The Summit Collection: A Strong First Step for New Brand Earthen

Earthen Company is one of the freshest names to enter the watch market, founded in Hong Kong in 2025 by a group of passionate collectors and enthusiasts. Co-founder Jonathan Chan, also a key figure behind The Horology Club, explains that the team approached this project as collectors first, not as traditional watchmakers.

The result is a debut that doesn’t chase trends but instead offers something unique, a series of ceramic, field- and pilot-inspired watches at an accessible price point. With the launch of the Summit Collection, it’s clear Earthen intends to make an impression from day one.

Speake Marin

Speake Marin is a prestigious watch brand based in the Neuchâtel area of Switzerland. It was founded by Peter Speake-Marin in 2002 in Bursins, Switzerland. The brand has gained recognition for its commitment to high-quality watchmaking and its pursuit of in-house manufacture movements.

In 2015, Speake Marin initiated a new movement strategy, leading to the development and assembly of in-house manufacture movements within its atelier in the Neuchâtel area. This strategic decision marked a significant milestone for the brand, allowing them to have more control over the watchmaking process and create timepieces that are exclusive to their brand.

The watchmakers at Speake Marin, based in the Neuchâtel region, play a crucial role in meticulously building and assembling the movements, adhering to Swiss watchmaking traditions that prioritize know-how and excellence. Creating a single timepiece involves around forty different skills, showcasing the diversity of talents required for the watchmaking process. From design and movement development to assembly and external parts decoration, the entire journey demands technical, design, manual, and artistic abilities.

Over the years, the brand has introduced various watch collections, each showcasing unique designs and technical features. Beyond watch production, Speake Marin has also been involved in various events and collaborations within the watchmaking industry. They participated in the ONLY WATCH charity auction and the Watches and Wonders Edition. Additionally, they collaborated with exclusive retailers like Ethos Ltd. to expand their reach and presence in new markets, including Norway.
