The iconic One & Two collection gets a Sandblasted dial
Speake-Marin is an independent Swiss watchmaker headquartered in Geneva. It was established in 2002 by the British watchmaker Peter Speake-Marin. The brand underwent a transition in 2012 when it was taken over by Christelle Rosnoblet, a pioneering and ambitious female entrepreneur. This transition marked the brand's journey towards a new era of horological excellence. Speake Marin directed its attention to 3 Hz movements. Later on, the brand further advanced by developing a 4Hz movement, which can be found in the new “One & Two” as the Openworked SMA01 movement.
The One & Two Openworked is a collection known for its craftsmanship and openworked design, showcasing the intricate details of their movements. This year, the brand continues its journey with two new identical gray sandblasted dials in the iconic Piccadilly case. However, they differ in their case materials, with one in red gold and the other in titanium, available in either 38 mm or 42 mm in diameter, but sharing the same 10.5 mm in thickness. Both feature sapphire crystals treated with an anti-reflective coating on both the front and caseback.
The partully openworked dials feature a sandblasting technique, with a uniformly textured yet elegantly rough grain finish. The small seconds hand, minute hands, and heart-shaped hour hands are PVD black-polished on the titanium version and gold-coated on the red gold variant. Additionally, matte black minute indices and the small seconds counter at 1:30 are applied using an innovative 3D technique.

The Sandblasted Titanium and Sandblasted Red Gold timepieces are powered by the self-winding in-house caliber SMA01, with an integrated micro-rotor. The movement was designed and assembled by the renowned "Le Cercle des Horlogers" workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), and offers 52 hours of power reserve.
Visible through the sapphire caseback, you will notice the sandblasted bridges with beveled profiles, as well as sunray and microbeaded finishes on the micro rotor, with engraved values on the barrel that is positioned at 5 o'clock.
