A previously secret Japan-exclusive release is now available to the public
Audemars Piguet has long set the standard for blending technical innovation with striking design, with the Royal Oak, a game-changing collection first introduced in 1972. Known for its bold aesthetics, advanced mechanics, and pioneering use of materials, the Royal Oak continues to evolve. This year, the brand unveils two new 41mm references, each crafted in 18-carat white gold and dressed in a stunning smoked blue “Grande Tapisserie” dial.
Initially launched as Japan-exclusive editions with little fanfare, these timepieces are now available globally. Both watches feature 41mm white gold cases, defined by sharp lines, a mix of brushed and polished surfaces, and the iconic octagonal bezel. The time-only reference (15510BC.OO.1320BC.04) measures 10.5mm in thickness, while the chronograph model (26240BC.OO.1320BC.04) is slightly thicker at 12.4mm due to the added complication. Each model is equipped with a screw-down crown, sapphire crystal on both the front and back, and offers a water resistance of 50 meters. The sapphire casebacks reveal the finely decorated calibres, beautifully framed in white gold.
The highlight of both models is the rich smoked blue “Grande Tapisserie” dial. The gradient deepens toward the edges, creating a dynamic sense of depth and contrast. A silver-grey inner bezel adds refinement, while 18-carat white gold applied indices and hands, filled with luminescent material, enhance legibility in low light. The chronograph features a tri-compax dial layout with a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock, while the time-only version displays just the hours, minutes, and seconds, with a date window positioned at 3 o’clock.
The Selfwinding model (Ref. 15510BC) is powered by the Calibre 4302, an in-house automatic movement that beats at 28,800 vph (4Hz) and delivers a robust 70-hour power reserve. The Chronograph model (Ref. 26240BC) features the Calibre 4401, an integrated flyback chronograph movement with the same frequency and power reserve.

Both watches are paired with integrated white gold bracelets, secured by a three-blade folding clasp. The chronograph is priced at CHF 71,600 (approximately AED 330,300), while the time- and date version retails for CHF 60,300 (approximately AED 278,500).
