Celebrating the upcoming Giro d’Italia bicycle race with pink accents
Just days after unveiling the carbon fibre Black Bay Chrono 25 inspired by the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula 1 livery, Tudor shifts from four wheels to two with its latest release: the Pelagos FXD Chrono “Pink.” This bold new chronograph pays tribute to the Giro d’Italia, the legendary bicycle race kicking off on May 9, 2025, and highlights Tudor’s growing presence in professional cycling as the Official Timekeeper of the event. Building on the foundation laid by last year’s non-limited Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition, this new model is limited and introduces a vibrant colorway inspired by the Maglia Rosa, the pink jersey awarded to the race leader.
The watch features a 43mm case with a thickness of 13.2mm, crafted from black carbon, chosen for its lightweight and rugged properties, much like those of modern bicycle frames. The case construction includes titanium elements such as the screw-down crown and non-screwed pushers. A flat sapphire crystal protects the dial, while a fixed 60-minute titanium bezel frames it. The solid caseback is engraved with the unique number of each piece and ensures 100 meters of water resistance.
The matte black dial is accented with vibrant pink highlights, most notably on the chronograph subdials and the spiral-shaped tachymeter scale positioned on the inner flange. This scale is specially calibrated to reflect the average speeds achieved by cyclists, rather than motorsport velocities. The dial also features a date window at 6 o’clock, luminescent Snowflake hands and square indices, made from monobloc ceramic composite for optimal legibility in low-light conditions. In case you were wondering, monobloc means “single block” in French, and ceramic composites are used on the indices because they don’t discolor with UV exposure or age, so white stays white, and bold colors remain vivid.
Powering the watch is the Calibre MT5813, an automatic chronograph movement derived from the Breitling B01. It is COSC-certified and features a silicon balance spring, column wheel, and vertical clutch. The movement runs at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and delivers a 70-hour power reserve.
Tudor pairs the watch with a single-piece black fabric strap, accented by a central pink stripe that ties the whole aesthetic together. As mentioned, this edition is limited to 300 numbered pieces and is priced at EUR 5,550, which is equiviant to AED 21,310.
