The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

News Timeless Luxury Afloat: Explora Journeys Sets Sail with Inaugural Rolex Boutique, Paving the Way for Ocean-Bound Watch Boutiques of the Future

Explora Journeys Redefines Luxury Cruising with Onboard Rolex Boutique

Explora Journeys, a prestigious Geneva-based company renowned for its opulent cruise liners, is set to revolutionize the luxury travel industry with the introduction of its first-ever Rolex boutique on board the magnificent Explora I. This grand unveiling is scheduled to take place during the ship's inaugural voyage in the Caribbean this November, marking the beginning of a new era for ocean-bound watch boutiques. As part of a remarkable expansion plan, Explora Journeys plans to launch a total of six luxury cruise liners by 2028, implying that the addition of watch boutiques might become a trend across their fleet.

Prior to its Caribbean winter season, the impressive Explora I will embark on a transatlantic journey from the United Kingdom to the United States this summer. This exciting prelude will offer travelers a taste of the extraordinary experiences awaiting them on the high seas. In May 2024, Explora I will commence its first summer season with a transatlantic crossing from Miami to Lisbon, where passengers will have the opportunity to embark on breathtaking Mediterranean tours.

The ownership of Explora I lies with MSC, a prominent name in the cruise industry. MSC has made a bold promise to redefine luxury cruising, catering to a new generation of travelers seeking unparalleled experiences. While the inclusion of an onboard Rolex boutique undoubtedly adds to the allure of Explora I, it also presents a unique challenge. The boutique will need to ensure a sufficient allocation of watches to meet the demands of discerning tourists who may not have an existing purchasing history with the store.

The emergence of watch boutiques on cruise liners signifies a burgeoning market for luxury watch brands. In a significant development last year, MSC Cruises announced the introduction of its first TimeVallée showroom on board the MSC Seascape, a prestigious luxury cruise ship that was ceremoniously launched in New York. TimeVallée, a luxury watch retail concept owned by Richemont, is expanding its presence worldwide, starting with Asia and now making its way into Europe.

As luxury watch brands venture into the realm of cruise liners, a new avenue of exclusivity and access opens up for travelers seeking exceptional timepieces. With Explora Journeys leading the way, the convergence of luxury travel and horology promises to create extraordinary experiences for watch enthusiasts on the high seas.
