Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
Mechanical creations that chime the time with a tone of precision and craftsmanship
As in every year, Watches and Wonders delivers a spectacular showcase of the art of watchmaking, where many of the leading maisons compete to present exceptional, complex timepieces and unique designs that celebrate horological craftsmanship.
While the Waqt team selected the seven best watches of the fair overall, this general selection wasn’t sufficient to highlight the many remarkable achievements and standout releases on display.
Therefore, we found it necessary to recognize the best timepieces in each specific category, starting with the most outstanding minute repeater watches. This choice shines a spotlight on one of the most refined and intricate complications in the world of haute horlogerie. We’ve chosen to begin with this category, as it rightfully deserves special attention.
The minute repeater, a mechanism that chimes the time on demand, remains a symbol of both technical mastery and poetic expression. It audibly indicates the hours, quarters, and minutes through carefully tuned gongs struck by miniature hammers. This complication demands a deep understanding of material science, acoustics, micromechanics, and above all, unrivaled craftsmanship. Here are our top three picks of minute repeater watches from Watches & Wonders 2025
Originally unveiled as a platinum limited edition for the 2023 Watch Art Grand Exhibition in Tokyo, the Quadruple Complication 5308G now joins Patek Philippe’s regular collection in a white gold case with a striking blue dial.
This horological marvel combines a split-seconds chronograph, perpetual calendar, and minute repeater. The latter is activated via a slide at 9 o’clock, chiming the hours, quarters, and minutes on two perfectly tuned gongs.
it's priced at CHF 1,050,000 approximately AED 4,722,000, you can read ou full article about this watch from here. You can see all the Patek Philippe novelties here.
A. Lange & Söhne introduced the Minute Repeater Perpetual, a masterclass in German watchmaking. Housed in platinum with a black enamel dial, it’s powered by the newly developed Calibre L122.2, a manually wound movement made of 640 components.
The watch includes a built-in safety mechanism that prevents the repeater from being activated while the crown is pulled, and vice versa, preserving the integrity of this delicate complication.
