Introducing Venezianico Unveils Its First In-House Movement in the Redentore Utopia

The V5000 Caliber Marks a New Chapter in the Journey of the Italian Brand

Italian watchmaker Venezianico presents the new Redentore Utopia, powered by the Calibre V5000, the brand’s first in-house mechanical movement developed in collaboration with OISA 1937.

The Calibre V5000 marks a significant milestone for Venezianico and signals a new chapter in the renaissance of Italian horology. The Redentore Utopia is the first timepiece to house this fully Italian-made movement.

This project is the result of a collaborative effort between the Morelli brothers, Andrea Menegazzo (Head of Product Design and Development at Venezianico), and Fausto Berizzi, Technical Director of OISA—one of Italy’s oldest movement manufacturers.

Fausto Berizzi is a storied figure in Italian watchmaking, having held key roles at prestigious Swiss manufactures such as Frédéric Piguet, Lemania, and Vaucher Manufacture. His deep expertise played a pivotal role in the development of the V5000.

Housed in a refined 38mm 316L stainless steel case, the Redentore Utopia exemplifies essential elegance with its minimalist proportions and thoughtful design. Its slim 8.9mm profile, made possible by the new movement, gives it a sleek and refined presence on the wrist. A polished bezel adds a classic touch, while the sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating ensures optimal legibility. The exhibition caseback, secured with six screws and fitted with a sapphire crystal, offers a clear view of the mechanical movement within.

The dial is a work of art, hand-engraved by master artisan Riccardo Renzetti using the traditional guilloché technique on a rose engine lathe, based on an exclusive pattern created for this model. The radial motif is born from slow, precise gestures, guided entirely by the artisan’s eye. The metal surface is then treated with ion plating (IP) to achieve a deep, shifting hue, where light dances along the engraved pattern to emphasize its depth and craftsmanship.

Alpha hands, faceted and polished to a mirror finish, ensure excellent readability as they catch and reflect the light. Stick indices, hand-applied and slightly curved, follow the contour of the dial without disrupting its visual harmony.

The Calibre V5000, Venezianico’s first proprietary movement, is a manual-winding calibre beating at 25,200 vibrations per hour (3.5 Hz). It delivers a power reserve of over 60 hours and boasts chronometric precision of ±3 seconds per day. It features a high-end, inertia-variable balance wheel and an innovative split gear train: one branch dedicated to the seconds, the other to the hours and minutes. This separation reduces mechanical interference, allowing the continuous motion of the seconds hand to operate without affecting the timekeeping accuracy of the main gear train.

Visually, the movement impresses with its four-bridge architecture and slim construction. Every detail is finished by hand, including radial Côtes de Genève, polished anglage, and micro-perlage, reflecting a deep commitment to artisanal craftsmanship.

Completing the watch is a blue leather strap, handcrafted by Gian Pietro Failli in his Tuscan workshop, perfectly matching the tone of the dial. It is secured with a stainless steel buckle.

The Redentore Utopia is a limited edition of 100 pieces, priced at EUR 4,500, approximately AED 18,540.
