A Sporty Design Inspired by the Challenges of Nature and Wildlife Conservation
Tutima is a leading German luxury watch brand, founded in 1927 in the renowned watchmaking hub of Glashütte, which is globally recognized for its precision timepieces. From its inception, Tutima distinguished itself with the production of pilot and military watches, offering robust and durable timepieces designed to meet the demanding needs of aviation and military tasks. Over time, the brand evolved to include innovative, high-end collections that seamlessly blend traditional German craftsmanship with modern technology, earning it widespread popularity among luxury watch enthusiasts worldwide.
Recently, Tutima introduced the new M2 Mara Safari Chronograph, a remarkable addition to its collection. This watch not only boasts a rugged, sporty design but also carries a significant environmental message. It was created in support of the Mara Elephant Project, which aims to protect elephants and their habitats in Africa. Built to withstand harsh environments, the “Mara Safari Chronograph” embodies Tutima's commitment to both durability and its environmental responsibility, making it a powerful symbol of the brand’s dedication to wildlife conservation.
The watch features a robust 46.5mm ultra-light, scratch-resistant, titanium case with a 16mm thickness, designed to endure the challenges of outdoor adventures. The case is equipped with integrated chronograph pushers, non-slip black neoprene inlays, a type of synthetic rubber that is flexible and resistant to many factors such as heat, humidity, and solvents. and a screw-in crown and caseback, the latter bearing the Mara Elephant Project logo. The bi-directional notched bezel has luminescent indices and numerals at five-minute intervals, while the 2.5mm thick, anti-reflective sapphire crystal offers durability and clarity. With a 300m water resistance, this timepiece is built for high-performance environments.
The dial features a rugged safari green hue that enhances its outdoor appeal. It includes a 30 minute chronograph subdial above the central hands and a 12-hour chronograph subdial below them, each with red hands. The small seconds are displayed at 9 o’clock, while a date window is positioned at 3 o’clock for easy reference. Both the indices and all the hands are coated with Super-LumiNova to ensure legibility in dark conditions. A white minute track is printed between the hour indices.
The watch is powered by the Tutima calibre 310, an automatic chronograph movement. Known for its precision and durability, this movement offers a robust 62-hour power reserve, ensuring the watch continues to perform reliably even during extended periods of non-wear.
It comes with a green rubber strap and a titanium pin buckle. This timepiece is a limited edition of 250 pieces, priced at EUR 4,600 (equivalent to AED 18,400).
