Beautiful blue touches for The Le Locle Powermatic 80
Tissot has earned a reputation for producing high-quality timepieces at accessible prices, positioning itself in the mid-range market segment. In 2003, Tissot celebrated its 150th anniversary by releasing an elegant, yet affordable collection named “Le Locle”. One of the most emblematic and recognizable collections from Tissot, as it was named after the brand’s hometown of Le Locle in Switzerland. The Le Locle collection typically showcases classic designs, often characterized by Roman numerals, guilloche dials, and elegant case designs.
Now, as the 'Le Locle' reaches its 20th anniversary, Tissot is commemorating this milestone with the release of “The Tissot Le Locle Powermatic 80 20th Anniversary” a special edition timepiece that embodies the collection's enduring legacy and the company's rich tradition of watchmaking excellence.
Encased in a brushed and polished stainless steel case that measures 39.3 mm in diameter and 9.8 mm in thickness, the watch strikes a perfect balance between prominence and comfort on the wrist. Crowned by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, while the see-through caseback boasts a partially opened view, adorned with a steel central bridge.
The silver dial with its central featuring "Clous de Paris” pattern is embossed to captivate the gaze, framed by a sunray-brushed hour chapter ring with a date window at 3 o'clock, enhancing the watch’s luxurious feel. What makes this release special is the applied blue Roman numerals, with leaf-shaped hands coated in blue as well.
Powering the watch is the Tissot Powermatic 80 movement, an upgraded variant of the ETA 2824-2. This automatic caliber has 80-hours of power reserve, and operates at 21,600 vph(3Hz) with a Nivachron antimagnetic hairspring. The Tissot Powermatic 80 is outfitted with a 7-link polished stainless steel bracelet, incorporating a folding clasp with an Interchangeable quick release system, and an additional blue leather strap with alligator pattern embossing is included. The Tissot Le Locle Powermatic 80 20th Anniversary is priced at CHF 675 which is equivalent to AED 2,800.
