Introducing Yema Releases the Skin Diver CMM.20

Three watches inspired by classic skin diver models from the 1960s

Yema dates back to 1948, holding a special place in French watchmaking history. The brand is known for creating rugged yet stylish tool watches, with models designed for explorers, racers, and divers alike. This year, Yema taps into that rich heritage with the release of the Skin Diver CMM.20, a thoroughly modern reimagining of its classic skin diver watches from the 1960s, now enhanced with updated aesthetics and an in-house micro-rotor movement.

The watch features a 316L stainless steel case measuring 39.5mm in diameter and 11.5mm in thickness, with polished bevels and brushed surfaces. Curved lugs and a screw-down crown lend it a distinctly retro charm, while a 2.2mm-thick double-domed sapphire crystal protects the dial. On the reverse, a sapphire exhibition caseback reveals the mechanical movement while maintaining an impressive 300 meters of water resistance. The matching sapphire bezel insert, tinted to align perfectly with the dial, includes a lumed pip at 12 o’clock and rotates via a unique “push-to-unlock” mechanism, modernized from the original Superman models to offer a seamless user experience.

The brushed dial is available in black, beige, or burgundy. It features oversized indices arranged in a triangular layout, complemented by Arabic numerals, a large arrow-shaped minute hand, a pencil-style hour hand, and a lollipop seconds hand. All elements are crafted in steel and treated with Super-LumiNova for vivid nighttime readability.

Powering the watch is Yema’s in-house micro-rotor caliber CMM.20, produced in Morteau, France. This automatic movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and delivers a 70-hour power reserve.

The watch comes fitted with a Scales Slim bracelet, a nod to Yema’s vintage bracelets from the 1960s. Slimmed down by 0.4mm, it features an adaptive glide micro-adjustment system built into the clasp. Thanks to a dual-trigger mechanism, wearers can fine-tune the fit by up to 6mm on the fly, no tools needed. The watch joins Yema’s permanent collection, with each variant priced at EUR 2,490, approximately AED 10,500.
