The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing The Voutilainen CSW or Cushion Shape Worldtime: A Sculpture in Time

Independent watchmaker, Kari Voutilainen, launches a unique world time watch, embracing bolder aesthetics and intricate mechanics.

If we remember correctly, The Voutilainen CSW is not the first square watch by Kari Voutilainen, as we all remember the collaboration between Finnish watchmaker Kari Voutilainen and his daughter Venla after she graduated from watchmaking school. They presented their unique pocket watch made for the Only Watch charity auction in 2019 and it was his first square watch (TP1).

TP1 Pocket Only Watch

Esteemed watchmaker Kari Voutilainen has once again set the stage for horological innovation and artistic prowess with the introduction of the new Voutilainen CSW Worldtime. Known for his dedication to precision and aesthetic sophistication, Voutilainen has delivered a timepiece that combines striking design with a nod to the functionality of vintage world time watches.

The Voutilainen CSW (Cushion Shape Worldtime) diverges from the brand's traditional round casing, instead opting for a cushion-shaped stainless steel case. Measuring at 39mm x 39mm with a depth of 12mm, it presents a distinct yet wearable size. Adorned with four functional screws at each corner, it introduces a fresh, modern twist to the brand's style. A guilloché pattern on a solid silver base accentuates the dial, along with a unique trivague wave motif at the center, lending it an air of sophisticated elegance.

This watch is more than just a design marvel; it is also a mechanical powerhouse. It is powered by the calibre 216TMZ, a hand-wound movement boasting a new escapement, an oversized balance wheel, and an impressive 60-hour power reserve. Central to the dial is a rotating 24-hour disc for world time, accompanied by a peripheral city ring which references Central Europe and Kemi, Finland's time. This feature serves as a tribute to Voutilainen's Finnish roots.

The exclusivity of the Voutilainen CSW is evident in its limited production run. Only 10 pieces are being manufactured, priced at CHF 198,000. This high price tag not only reflects the extraordinary quality and craftsmanship of the timepiece but also its rarity and exclusivity.

The Voutilainen CSW Worldtime's introduction is a testament to Kari Voutilainen's continuous pursuit of watchmaking excellence. Since founding his independent watchmaking business in 2002, he has earned international acclaim for his handcrafted timepieces. His creations have won eight prestigious Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève awards, demonstrating his commitment to pushing the boundaries of design and mechanical innovation.

This newest addition to Voutilainen's lineup of exceptional timepieces is a harmonious blend of bold, contemporary aesthetics and the intricate mechanics that the brand is renowned for. It exemplifies the mastery of a dedicated independent watchmaker and stands as a testament to the spirit of horological artistry that Kari Voutilainen continually brings to life.
