The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Since 1957, Piaget has carved out a prestigious reputation as the master of ultra-thin Swiss watches, a legacy that began with the creation of one of the thinnest movements ever made—a mere 2 mm in thickness. Originating from the small village of La Côte-aux-Fées, nestled in the heart of the Swiss Jura Mountains, Piaget has been perfecting the art of creative contrast for over 150 years. At a time when watchmakers typically embraced standard flat components, Piaget defied convention with revolutionary designs that set new standards for thinness and precision.

The iconic 9P and 12P calibers, among others, marked Piaget's innovative use of decorative stone dials. In the 1970s, however, the brand embraced the popularity of stainless steel, creating its first sporty-stylish watch, the Polo, featuring a pure gold bracelet.

At Watches And Wonders 2024, Piaget expanded its 150th-anniversary celebration with elegance and innovation, introducing its thinnest watch with a tourbillon—a testament to the brand's legacy in ultra-thin watchmaking. Additionally, Piaget unveiled two new Piaget Polo Date models. The new Piaget Polo Date 36 mm in 18K rose gold is also part of the 150th-anniversary celebration, this refined model features a rainbow setting on the bezel and indexes.

This timepiece measures 9.17 mm in thickness and features a crown set with a ruby and a bezel adorned with small diamonds and showcases two of Piaget's distinctive aesthetic signatures. Firstly, it has a mother-of-pearl dial delicately engraved with horizontal lines, reflecting Piaget's classic Décor Palace design on a material other than gold. Secondly, the bezel exhibits a beautiful gradient made up of an elegant rainbow comprising 17 rubies, 5 sapphires, 6 citrines, and 6 tsavorite garnets. The dial also showcases rainbow set indices with the date window poisoned at 6 o’clock.

Through the sapphire crystal case back you can see the 3.63 mm thick Automatic caliber 500P1 with an oscillating weight bearing the House symbol, Circular Côtes de Genève, and Circular grained plate. This movement operates at 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offers 40 hours of power reserve. The watch comes with a rose gold bracelet with a triple folding clasp, and the price is still upon request.
