Three unique colors with an elegant modern touch for the women’s collection
The Nomos Glashütte Metro collection was initially introduced in 2014. Next March will mark the collection's tenth anniversary, and to celebrate this milestone, the German company has unveiled three new additions in elegant colors designed by Mark Braun, the man behind the first watches of the Metro collection.
The trio comes in a 33 mm polished stainless steel case, Characterized by its sleek wire lugs, slim bezel, and the signature Metro crown with its diamond knurling, topped by a domed sapphire crystal. The watches have a total thickness of 7.5 mm with a lug-to-lug distance of 40 mm. For the case back, the trio comes with two options: a stainless steel or a sapphire crystal case back.
Each timepiece in the Nomos Metro 33 collection draws inspiration from different areas within New York City. The silver-colored dial mirrors the gleaming glass facades of skyscrapers. The muted red dial resonates with the warm, and inviting aura of classic red brick buildings, featuring a second's hand and minute markers in pink hue. Meanwhile, the sage green dial symbolizes the refreshing greenery of sprawling city parks and displays its hands in yellow hue for a fresh look. These hands are reminiscent of the stepped design of the Empire State Building, surrounded by large dot indexes indicating the hours. Arabic numerals are used for the five-minute intervals between small dots representing the minutes. Additionally, there is a snailed subdial for tracking small seconds at 6 o'clock. The silver dial is adorned with a sunburst finish, whereas the red and green dials are simply galvanized.
The timepieces are powered by the hand-wound Alpha caliber, in-house built by Nomos, operates at 21,600 VPH (3 Hz) decorated with blued screws, this movement offers 43 hours of power reserve and 17 jewels.
