The Summit Collection: A Strong First Step for New Brand Earthen

Earthen Company is one of the freshest names to enter the watch market, founded in Hong Kong in 2025 by a group of passionate collectors and enthusiasts. Co-founder Jonathan Chan, also a key figure behind The Horology Club, explains that the team approached this project as collectors first, not as traditional watchmakers.

The result is a debut that doesn’t chase trends but instead offers something unique, a series of ceramic, field- and pilot-inspired watches at an accessible price point. With the launch of the Summit Collection, it’s clear Earthen intends to make an impression from day one.

Introducing Stefan Kudoke Elevates the Kudoke 3 with New Flakes Editions

Defining the German watchmaker’s unique design language through artisanal dial engraving

At the prestigious AHCI “Masters of Horology” exhibition in Geneva, independent German watchmaker Stefan Kudoke presented new editions of his celebrated KUDOKE 3 model. These fresh interpretations feature a hand-engraved upper dial with a polished bevel, offered in either yellow gold plating or white rhodium plating.

Since its debut in 2023 as part of the HANDwerk collection, the KUDOKE 3 has embodied the brand’s dedication to artisanal craftsmanship. The salmon-colored edition notably won the GPHG Petite Aiguille Award last year, further solidifying Kudoke’s place among the finest independent watchmakers. That same year, Kudoke also collaborated with Louis Erard to create a striking timepiece, you can read our full review of that masterpiece here.

With this new dial variant, the KUDOKE 3 reaffirms its distinct identity, where refined aesthetics meet artistic depth. The model offers a unique interpretation of time display: minutes are indicated traditionally via a large, blued steel hand sweeping the upper dial ring, while hours are shown through a three-section plate positioned on the lower dial level. The layout evokes a design reminiscent of Daniel Roth, although in this case, it’s dedicated to the hour display, not the seconds. We’ve also covered this fascinating visual approach in our article on that watch here.

Like previous editions, the new variant is housed in a refined 39 mm fully polished stainless steel case. A rose gold case is available upon request. The height is a balanced 10.3 mm, paired with a signature onion crown. Sapphire crystals protect both sides of the case, and the watch offers a water resistance of 50 meters.

Hand-engraving has long been integral to Kudoke’s identity, and this continues with the new models. The upper dial is artistically engraved and features a finely polished bevel, adding depth and elegance. The engraving technique, dubbed “Flakes,” involves gradually removing tiny flakes of material — much like a mosaic — and requires exceptional patience, skill, and time. In addition to “Flakes,” Kudoke offers other engraving styles and bespoke motifs upon request, making each timepiece uniquely personal.

The upper dial’s flowing wave pattern harmonizes beautifully with the silver-plated hour plate below. Diamond-cut edges on the hour plate, logo plaque, and minute ring enhance the interplay of light. Kudoke’s signature infinity symbol, a hallmark of the HANDwerk collection, appears both at the tip of the minute hand and at the 60-minute mark on the ring.

Powering all editions of the KUDOKE 3 is the hand-wound Kaliber 1 movement, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a 46-hour power reserve. The movement features a hand-engraved balance cock adorned with the infinity motif.

The new editions are paired with leather or Alcantara straps, secured with a stainless steel pin buckle. A rose gold version of the buckle is available upon special request. Priced at EUR 12,434 which is equivalent approximately to AED 51,900.
