Louis Erard Unveils the Limited-Edition Gravée Main

Since 2021, Louis Erard has been redefining the boundaries of Métiers d’Art, from Grand Feu enamel and guilloché to wood marquetry, and soon, gold wire inlay. Now, Gravée Main opens a new chapter, paying tribute to one of the oldest crafts in watchmaking hand engraving.
Gravée Main represents a new milestone in Louis Erard’s Métiers d’Art series. This limited edition of 99 unique timepieces places hand engraving at center stage, with every metal element entirely engraved and finished by hand, a meticulous process that requires more than 50 hours of work.

Introducing The New Mara from the Scottish Brand Paulin

The brand’s first step into the realm of diving watches

Paulin was founded in 2013 by three sisters Elizabeth, Charlotte, and Eleanor Paulin in Glasgow, Scotland, and quickly became known for its bold typography, playful colors, and distinctive designs. In 2023, another Scottish brand anOrdain acquired Paulin, leading to a rebrand and relaunch with an updated aesthetic vision and a fresh lineup of watches. This year, Paulin is unveiling the Mara, marking its first venture into the world of dive watches.

The Mara, named after the Scottish Gaelic word for “of the sea”, represents a natural evolution of Paulin’s design language. It draws inspiration from the cushion-shaped Modul collection case, refining the concept with a bolder look and stronger wrist presence.

The stainless steel case measures 39.7 mm in diameter, 13.5 mm in thickness, and 48 mm lug-to-lug. Surfaces alternate between brushed and polished finishes, and the watch is equipped with a 120-click unidirectional bezel featuring a domed sapphire insert with Super-LumiNova markings. A screw-down crown supports a water-resistance rating of 300 meters, while the double-domed sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating to ensure excellent legibility.

The lacquered dial is available in black or blue, and showcases bold geometric indices paired with numerals in Paulin’s “Wim” typeface. Baton-style hands and markers are treated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility in low light.

Powering the watch is the La Joux-Perret G101, an automatic movement beating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) with an extended power reserve of 68 hours. Each variant is delivered with two easily interchangeable straps: a custom-molded HNBR rubber strap designed specifically for the case, and a Tide fabric strap made from recycled fishing nets, lined with Italian Alcantara, and hand-stitched in Glasgow.

The Paulin Mara is priced at USD 1,650, approximately AED 6,100.
