The iconic double face Reverso tourbillon gets a new simple and elegant case
This year has been an exciting one for Jaeger-LeCoultre, especially after our enlightening visit to the "Precision Pioneer" exhibition at the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC). The exhibition beautifully showcased the brand's rich history, spotlighting its contributions to the world of horology. One of the most captivating releases we encountered was the stunning Master Grande Tradition Caliber 948 World-Timer.
But the excitement didn’t end there. Jaeger-LeCoultre continues to push the boundaries in 2024, introducing the Reverso Tribute Duoface Tourbillon in steel. This follows the 18k pink gold model that debuted at Watches and Wonders Geneva in 2023, adding a fresh new chapter to the iconic Reverso lineup.

The Reverso Duoface concept was developed in 1994, and it revolutionized watchmaking by offering two contrasting dials, each displaying a different time zone, all operated by a single movement. This innovative approach became an iconic feature of Jaeger-LeCoultre's Reverso collection.
The creation of the watch took this concept even further, driven by the ambition to combine the Duoface's dual time zone function with a tourbillon visible on both dials—without adding thickness to the calibre. To achieve this engineering marvel, Jaeger-LeCoultre's team had to completely reimagine the traditional tourbillon mechanism. They eliminated the upper bridge that typically supports a tourbillon, replaced the outer tourbillon cage with a peripheral ball-bearing system, and implemented the Maison’s patented S-shaped hairspring, allowing the spring and balance wheel to be centrally fixed.
As a result, the ultra-slim Calibre 847 measures just 3.9mm in thickness, while the entire watch remains a sleek 9.15mm, highlighting Jaeger-LeCoultre's mastery in blending technical complexity with refined elegance. The movement operates at 21,600 vph (3Hz), and offers 42 hours of power reserve.
The core difference in this variant is its new steel case, while the dimensions remain the same as the pink gold version, measuring 45.5 x 27.4 mm. It features an array of functions, including hours and minutes on the front, a tourbillon visible on both the front and reverse, a second time zone, and a night-day indicator on the reverse.
The front dial boasts a refined gray sunrayed finish, while the reverse dial, which displays the second time zone, offers a striking contrast with its silver sunrayed Clous de Paris guilloché pattern. The reverse dial is partially open-worked, revealing hand-beveled bridge edges and rich textures. The watch comes with a Black alligator or Grey Fagliano calfskin leather strap, and is priced at AED 426,000.
