A unique piece for the second collaboration with Parisian retailer Chronopassion
Kross Studio is a Swiss independent brand founded in 2020 by Marco Tedeschi. Driven by a vision to seamlessly integrate form and function while honoring the principles of traditional watchmaking, the brand has created a series of unique complication watches, offered in limited editions or custom-made for collectors.
In its latest release, Kross Studio has unveiled the KS 06, a one-of-a-kind creation in collaboration with the renowned Parisian retailer Chronopassion. The case is crafted from polished and brushed grade 5 titanium, featuring a 42mm diameter and a thickness of 19.80mm. A dome-shaped, anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the caseback also features a sapphire crystal. Departing from tradition, the watch employs a flat D-ring crown made of titanium instead of a conventional crown.
For this exclusive piece, Kross Studio drew inspiration from American Indian art, a concept suggested by Chronopassion’s Laurent Picciotto. This collaboration marked the brand’s first use of silver, which features prominently on the bezel, adorned with intricate laser engravings.
The dial ring is crafted from Turquoise Spider stone that is distinguished by its unique inclusions and beautiful textures. At its center lies a floating tourbillon, a patented marvel that offers a view of its intricate mechanics, elevated above the hands and movement. The rhodium-plated hands, filled with white Super-LumiNova, ensure excellent legibility, while the flange is treated with ultra-fine opal sandblasting for a refined finish.
The KS 06 is powered by the KS 7’006 movement, an in-house COSC-certified caliber composed of 220 components. Its standout feature, the peripheral hour display, employs a planetary gear system mounted on two ball bearings. This ingenious design eliminates any obstructions to the tourbillon, providing a clear and unobstructed view of the mechanism. The movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz), and offers 5 days of power reserve.
The timepiece comes with a black leather strap paired with a grade 5 titanium pin buckle clasp. This one-of-a-kind creation is priced at CHF 95,000, which is approximately equivalent to AED 381,200.
