The Summit Collection: A Strong First Step for New Brand Earthen

Earthen Company is one of the freshest names to enter the watch market, founded in Hong Kong in 2025 by a group of passionate collectors and enthusiasts. Co-founder Jonathan Chan, also a key figure behind The Horology Club, explains that the team approached this project as collectors first, not as traditional watchmakers.

The result is a debut that doesn’t chase trends but instead offers something unique, a series of ceramic, field- and pilot-inspired watches at an accessible price point. With the launch of the Summit Collection, it’s clear Earthen intends to make an impression from day one.

Introducing The Russian Brand Raketa Unveils the Pilot Watch

Paying tribute to 20th-century aviator watches, with Raketa' touch

Founded in 1961 at the height of the Soviet space race, Raketa is one of the rare manufacturers in the world that produces its mechanical movements entirely in-house, from raw metal to finished caliber. Based in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Raketa has long specialized in tool watches for cosmonauts, such as the Space Launcher x 1886 “First in Space”, Arctic explorers with models like the Polar, and military professionals with the Sonar. Today, the brand introduces the Raketa Pilot, a tribute to early 20th-century aviator watches, updated with a bold new design language that is unmistakably Raketa.

The stainless-steel case measures 42mm in diameter and features a mix of brushed and polished finishes. Notably, the case includes ergonomic lugs to ensure a comfortable fit on the wrist. The dial is topped with a double-domed sapphire crystal, while the caseback also features a sapphire crystal to showcase the movement. A screw-down crown provides robust water resistance of up to 200 meters.

The matte black dial mimics the layout of vintage aircraft instruments. Large, luminescent Arabic numerals and blue Super-LumiNova-coated hands ensure legibility in all lighting conditions, while a bright yellow seconds hand adds contrast and visibility.

Powering the Raketa Pilot is the Raketa Caliber 2615, an automatic movement operating at 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz), with a 40-hour power reserve. The watch comes with two options out of the box: a stainless-steel bracelet and a leather strap. Both attach via a 20mm lug width, allowing for easy strap changes.

This model joins Raketa’s permanent collection and is priced at €1,800, equivalent to AED 8,250.
