Celebrating the 60th-anniversary of the Carrera collection, in a gold case
TAG Heuer celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Carrera collection with a new Chronograph in 18K gold, drawing inspiration from a 1972 edition. These watches were initially crafted for Formula 1 drivers in that era, a clever move that established a strong connection between TAG Heuer and motorsports.

This Carrera Chronograph features a 39mm case crafted from 18K 3N gold, comprising 75% gold, 12.5% silver, and 12.5% copper. The dimensions remain consistent with the steel models, resulting in a lug-to-lug size of 46mm and a thickness of 13.9mm. It boasts large lugs that curve downward to conform to the wrist's profile, with fine brushed and polished surfaces that accentuate its captivating design.
The case is fitted with two pushers with polished sides and circular-brushed tops, to activate the chronograph functions, start/stop at 2 o'clock, reset at 4 o'clock. The crown displays the TAG Heuer logo, while the caseback has sapphire crystal.
The profile is characterized by a Glassbox sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment. Resembling the domed crystals found on Carrera models from the 1970s, there's a tachymeter on the outside of the curved flange under the crystal. It provides a nice 3D effect, contributing to a sense of depth on the dial.
TAG Heuer employs a vertically brushed 18K 2N yellow gold-plated panda dial with two black “azuré” subdials, at 3 o’clock lies the 30 minutes subdial, while the 12 hours subdial positioned at 9 o’clock, alongside the running second at 6 o'clock which includes a framed aperture, displaying the white date window. All indices are faceted, featuring a black line running in the middle. The hour and minute hands are gold-plated and filled with Super LumiNova for enhanced visibility, the black lacquered central second hand creates a striking contrast against the luxurious gold dial.
Visible through the screw-down sapphire caseback, TAG Heuer’s in-house chronograph movement, the Heuer 02 is adorned with the Geneva waves pattern. The caliber operates at 28,800 VPH, and offers 80 hours of power reserve, including an oscillating weight that provides bi-directional winding.
The watch is paired with a black calf rally-style strap featuring an 18K gold pin buckle. For a price of USD 21,500 equivalent to AED 79,000
