The Summit Collection: A Strong First Step for New Brand Earthen

Earthen Company is one of the freshest names to enter the watch market, founded in Hong Kong in 2025 by a group of passionate collectors and enthusiasts. Co-founder Jonathan Chan, also a key figure behind The Horology Club, explains that the team approached this project as collectors first, not as traditional watchmakers.

The result is a debut that doesn’t chase trends but instead offers something unique, a series of ceramic, field- and pilot-inspired watches at an accessible price point. With the launch of the Summit Collection, it’s clear Earthen intends to make an impression from day one.

Introducing Pequignet Unveils the New Royale Paris “Coral”

The French maison updates the design and movement of its classic watch

At the last Watches and Wonders, we discovered the French brand Pequignet with its striking Concorde in titanium, featuring a sporty integrated bracelet. What makes the company particularly distinctive is its commitment to manufacturing in-house calibres at its atelier on the Swiss border.

Now, Pequignet unveils a new addition to the Royale Paris 39.5mm Power Reserve Small Seconds collection, a more classic piece with a rounded case, a fresh dial color, and several refined updates in both design and movement.

The stainless steel case measures 39.5mm in diameter, 11.5mm in thickness (including the box-shaped sapphire crystal), and about 47mm lug-to-lug. Its sculpted profile incorporates a concave “gouge”-shaped recess, echoed on the dial. The applied lugs, a strong signature of the collection, have been subtly refined, with a brushed finish on top and polished sides.

This new model stands out with its soft coral-hued dial, a unique salmon-golden shade. The dial features an embossed grained texture, paired with a satin-finished recessed groove and thin applied indices that appear to float above the surface. The power reserve indicator is displayed on an arched white track, while the small seconds subdial features a snailed pattern with a silvered ring. Polished steel hands complete the display, with Super-LumiNova applied to the hours and minutes hands.

Inside beats the latest generation of the Calibre Royal, a movement entirely hand-assembled in Pequignet’s Morteau workshops. With 318 components, this automatic calibre retains all the hallmarks that have made it a benchmark of French watchmaking while adding improved reliability. Its single large barrel now delivers a 96-hour power reserve, an upgrade from the previous 88 hours. A large balance wheel oscillates at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), ensuring steady performance. Each calibre undergoes meticulous regulation to achieve chronometric precision, with an average daily rate of +2/-2 seconds, well within chronometer standards.

The watch is fitted with a black alligator strap. The Coral Royale Paris 39.5mm Power Reserve Small Seconds joins the brand’s permanent collection and is priced at EUR 5,300 (approximately AED 22,900).
