The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing TAG Heuer's Nautical Masterpiece: The Revived Carrera Skipper

In a harmonious blend of the old and the new, TAG Heuer has revived its iconic Skipper

This summer, TAG Heuer has unveiled a timepiece that blends history, functionality, and timeless aesthetics: the all-new Carrera Skipper. A reintroduction of a cult classic, the Carrera Skipper combines elements from a racing chronograph with the stylistic influences of yachting, transforming the vintage design into a modern day chronograph.

reference CBS2213.FN6002(right)The origins of this revived icon lie deep within the roots of TAG Heuer's historical association with the America's Cup yacht race. The brand first ventured into the world of yachting with a surprising alliance in the mid-1940s, by crafting Abercrombie & Fitch-branded watches with tide indicators. This resulted in an unexpected partnership that sparked the creation of the original Heuer Skipper.

Fast forward to the late 1960s, TAG Heuer had become the official timing partner for the America's Cup boat 'Intrepid'. In commemoration of the yacht's dominant victory, Heuer introduced the Skipper in 1968.

The new TAG Heuer Carrera Skipper pays homage to this coveted original. Equipped with the same sea-inspired palette, the Carrera Skipper, however, is not merely a look-alike of its predecessor. This redesigned watch showcases modern technology and has adapted to contemporary tastes and requirements.

The new TAG Heuer Carrera Skipper is based on the 'Glassbox' Carrera. The standout feature of this model is its bezel-less design where the glass gracefully extends to the edges of the 39mm stainless steel case, resulting in a sleek, modern aesthetic. It houses a TH20-06 movement, that offers an 80-hour power reserve. This power reserve not only showcases TAG Heuer's commitment to precision but also significantly reduces the frequency of winding, a convenience for the modern user.

An homage to the nautical roots of the Skipper, the dial is a signature blue, inspired by the vast expanses of the sea. Echoing the color scheme of the original Skipper, the watch features an Intrepid teal 12-hour counter and a 15-minute regatta counter split into three segments: Intrepid teal, Lagoon Green, and Regatta Orange.

This return of the Skipper isn't just a revival of an iconic watch; it is also the reestablishment of TAG Heuer's presence in the realm of yachting. With a bright orange seconds hand and triangular markers placed at five-minute intervals around the dial, the Carrera Skipper masterfully blends nostalgia with modernity.

The Carrera Skipper is more than a timepiece; it is a celebration of TAG Heuer's history and a testament to its innovation. Available now, it marks the brand's return to the world of yachts, with a price point set at approximately $7,600 USD.
