Elegant releases with beautiful colors for LVMH Watch Week
Motorsport has long been intertwined with watchmaking, inspiring timepieces that encapsulate the thrill and precision of the sport. Many legendary watches pay homage to this relationship, with the TAG Heuer Carrera standing as a shining example of the enduring partnership between speed and timekeeping.
In 2023, TAG Heuer celebrated the Carrera's 60th anniversary by reintroducing its iconic glassbox design, a concept rooted in Jack Heuer’s pioneering use of a flange to enhance dial readability. Now elevated with a curved sapphire crystal, offering exceptional visibility while preserving the watch's classic heritage.
As part of its participation in LVMH Watch Week in Los Angeles, USA, TAG Heuer has unveiled a luxurious iteration of the Carrera Chronograph, featuring a diamond-set flange and radiant chaton diamond indexes. This exquisite timepiece is available in two striking variations, each with a distinctive character. One highlights TAG Heuer’s signature blue dial, a color deeply rooted in the collection's heritage, while the other showcases a delicate and beautiful powdery pink dial.
Housed in a 39 mm x 13.86 mm brushed and polished stainless steel case, the watch features a bezel-free construction that emphasizes its clean, modern aesthetic. The sapphire crystal, treated with a double anti-reflective coating, ensures optimal legibility. At the back, a screw-down sapphire caseback provides a water resistance of up to 100 meters. Adding a touch of opulence, the diamond-set flange is adorned with 72 diamonds while the 11 chaton diamond indexes, elegantly follow the curve of the inner flange, showcasing TAG Heuer’s meticulous attention to detail.
The tricompax dial features an elegant circular-brushed finish that adds depth and texture, enhancing its visual appeal. Rhodium-plated hands ensure optimal clarity, while the subdials and a discreet date window positioned at 6 o’clock seamlessly integrate into the dial’s overall aesthetic.
Powering both watches is the TH20-00 caliber, TAG Heuer’s in-house chronograph movement. As an evolution of the acclaimed Heuer 02, the TH20-00 incorporates a vertical clutch and a column wheel for enhanced precision and functionality. This robust movement offers an impressive 80-hour power reserve and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph(4Hz).
The blue model is paired with a dark blue alligator leather strap, while the powdery pink version features a matching calfskin leather strap. There are also two additional strap options, a white alligator and a gray alligator strap. The pink model is priced at CHF 8,400 / AED 33,900, while the blue model is slightly more expensive, priced at CHF 8,500 / AED 34,250.
