Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
A new RM 65-01 Split-Seconds Chronograph inspired by the iconic hues of the Lakers
Richard Mille partnerships with Formula 1, tennis, and golf champions have produced some of the most radical watches of the 21st century as we saw recently with the limited edition created for Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc. Now, Richard Mille adds another sporting icon to its collaborative portfolio, the NBA Icon LeBron James. The new RM 65-01 Split-Seconds Chronograph LeBron James marks the first official partnership between the Swiss watchmaker and an NBA player.
Crafted from a combination of black Carbon TPT and yellow Quartz TPT, the tonneau-shaped case measures 44.5mm x 49.94mm and is 16.1mm thick. The layered structure of these proprietary materials offers both durability and style, with the yellow elements paying direct homage to the Los Angeles Lakers' color palette. Flip the watch over, and you’ll find LeBron James’s signature in purple etched across the transparent caseback. The watch also offers 50 meters of water resistance.
The skeletonized dial explodes with color. Purple highlights the tachymeter scale and one of the chronograph hands, while yellow accents line the midcase, crown, and outline portions of the dial. The indices are green, his logo sits at 12 o'clock, and touches of teal and contrasting finishes add further visual flair. The lume-treated hands, and indices ensure legibility despite the complexity.
Inside ticks the automatic RMAC4 caliber, made up of more than 600 components. This automatic movement beats at a high frequency of 36,000 vph (5 Hz) and offers a power reserve of 60 hours without the chronograph running. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, split-seconds chronograph, date, and a function selector.
The watch is paired with a yellow rubber-textile strap, with an integrated design that ensures comfort and grip. This is a limited edition of just 150 pieces, and is priced at $405,040, which is approximately AED 1,488,000.
