Louis Erard Unveils the Limited-Edition Gravée Main

Since 2021, Louis Erard has been redefining the boundaries of Métiers d’Art, from Grand Feu enamel and guilloché to wood marquetry, and soon, gold wire inlay. Now, Gravée Main opens a new chapter, paying tribute to one of the oldest crafts in watchmaking hand engraving.
Gravée Main represents a new milestone in Louis Erard’s Métiers d’Art series. This limited edition of 99 unique timepieces places hand engraving at center stage, with every metal element entirely engraved and finished by hand, a meticulous process that requires more than 50 hours of work.

Introducing Ressence Unveils the Type 9 ARM “Scattering Sun”

A limited edition created in collaboration with The Armoury menswear house

Ressence has carved out a distinctive identity in watchmaking through its Orbital Convex System, a patented mechanism that replaces traditional hands with rotating discs orbiting in harmony. This innovation has defined creations such as the Type 9Type 7, and Type 8. In its latest release, the brand collaborates with The Armoury, a Hong Kong, and New York, based menswear house celebrated for its artisanal tailoring and timeless elegance, to present the Type 9 ARM “Scattering Sun” featuring a classic fluted bezel.

The case is crafted from Grade 5 titanium, measuring a compact 39mm in diameter, 11mm in thickness, and weighing only 39 grams. Its most striking element is the polished fluted titanium bezel, a refined detail that lends the watch a more classical presence. Staying true to Ressence’s philosophy of eliminating the crown, the caseback is used for both winding and setting the time.

The sandblasted titanium dial is treated with a salmon PVD coating, a hue with deep roots in traditional watchmaking that has seen a resurgence in recent years. The domed display indicates the minutes on the periphery and the hours on a smaller subdial framed by a brushed copper-toned chapter ring. White baton markers and shorter decorative indices encircle the dial, while green Super-LumiNova coats the engraved indications, bezel markers, and hands, ensuring excellent legibility in all conditions.

Powering the watch is the ROCS 9 system, driven by the minute axle of a customized automatic calibre based on the ETA 2892/2. Operating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), it delivers a 36-hour power reserve. The entire dial rotates once per hour, while the hour disc completes a twelve-hour cycle, creating a poetic and ever-changing display of time.

The watch is paired with a chocolate suede strap secured by a titanium ardillon buckle. Limited to just 20 pieces, the Type 9 ARM “Scattering Sun” is priced at USD 19,000, approximately AED 69,800.
