The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing Ressence Unveils The TYPE 8 Indigo with Blue Silk Dial

A limited-edition tribute to Japan’s indigo dyeing legacy

Ressence is known for its revolutionary approach to timekeeping, the Belgian brand redefines tradition with its signature rotating discs that replace conventional hands. Today, Ressence is unveiling the TYPE 8 Indigo, a stunning limited-edition timepiece that marries horological ingenuity with the centuries-old Japanese art of indigo dyeing.

This release marks the renewal and expansion of Shellman, Ressence’s retailer at Isetan Shinjuku, Tokyo's premier luxury watch destination. The TYPE 8 Indigo comes in a polished Grade 5 titanium case, topped with a domed sapphire crystal that has an anti-reflective coating on the inside, ensuring optimal legibility from any angle. The watch measures 42.9 mm in diameter and 11 mm in thickness, and is manually wound via the case back, which rotates in two directions.

For the first time, Ressence collaborated with Swiss Arts & Métiers artisans to craft a dial that beautifully balances organic artistry with structured precision. The result is a beautiful pattern enriched by indigo pigments, revealing a spectrum of shades from electric blues to near black. This innovative project brought Ressence into partnership with Buaisou, a renowned company in Kamiita-cho, Tokushima Prefecture, the heart of Japan’s indigo dyeing tradition. Buaisou grows its own indigo plants and oversees every aspect of the dyeing process in-house, ensuring quality while honoring centuries-old techniques.

Indigo dyeing, known as the oldest dyeing method in human history, has been celebrated in Japan since the 6th century, earning the nickname "Japan Blue" for its deep and inviting hues. Showcasing the beauty of natural indigo through the application of silk thread.

In the TYPE 8 Indigo, the intricately carved titanium dial accommodates the minimal 0.25mm gap between the external surface of the dial and the sapphire crystal, ensuring a seamless fit. Areas unable to meet the 0.2mm reduction in thickness create two grey pockets visible around the minute dial, finished in neutral grey PVD to enhance the striking indigo tones. The dial displays time with a central hand for minutes and a sub-dial for hours, while engraved indicators are coated in blue Super-LumiNova

The watch is powered by the patented ROCS 8 (Ressence Orbital Convex System) module, a groundbreaking mechanism driven by the minute axle of a ETA 2892-2 automatic base caliber. This movement offers a power reserve of 36 hours and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz).

It comes with a grey Saffiano calf leather strap, with a titanium ardillon buckle. The watch is limited to just 8 pieces, and priced at CHF 25,000, approximately AED 103,600.
