A rotating dial displays exceptional functions with an innovative design
Ressence is a Belgian luxury watch company founded in 2010, known for its innovative and unconventional designs. The brand is recognized for its unique time display system, which replaces traditional hands with rotating discs, allowing for a more fluid and modern interpretation of time. The brand has introduced several versions, including the “Type 3 BB2” and many others. Ressence is now launching its latest editions in elegant colors: the Type 3 in white and the Type 3 in black.

The case, crafted from polished Grade 5 titanium, comes in both black with DLC coating or white. It has a diameter of 44mm and a thickness of 15mm. The innovative design features two sealed chambers, with the upper chamber holding 3.57ml of oil to enhance the clarity and visual contrast of the distinctive dial. Additionally, the watch is protected by a double-domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Instead of the traditional crown the caseback facilitates both winding and day/date/time adjustments
The dials of the Type 3 Black and Type 3 White editions showcase an eye-catching design that deconstructs traditional rules of timekeeping. The brand employs an innovative in-house display module called ROCS, allowing time to rotate around the dial via highly graphic rotating sub-dials. The streamlined design features redesigned indicators with a new font inspired by the Type 5 collection, but without the traditional hands typically seen on other watches. All indexes, hands, and graphics on the dial are coated with green and blue Super-LumiNova for enhanced readability. The titanium dial, available in either white or black, gives the numerals and indexes distinctive rounded edges, topped off with a matte that beautifully showcases the ever-changing subdials displaying the hours, minutes, counter (180 seconds), day, date, and oil temperature.

The movement features an automatic ETA 2892, utilizing a magnetic transmission driven by the minute axle of the base caliber. This sophisticated design includes the ROCS 3.6 (Ressence Orbital Convex System) module. The oil is also susceptible to temperature fluctuations. It offers a power reserve of 36 hours, operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), and comprises 47 jewels, 44 gears, ensuring precision and reliability in timekeeping.
The watch comes with a grey woven fabric strap for the white watch and a black saffiano leather strap for the black watch featuring a polished ardillon buckle. Priced at CHF 38,200, equivalent to AED 168,080.
