The iconic watch now features striking blue and green obsidian stone dials
Founded in 1874 in the Swiss village of La Côte-aux-Fées, Piaget first made its mark with ultra-thin movements in 1957, redefining elegance in mechanical watchmaking. By the 1960s, the brand began turning heads again, this time with stone dials that transformed watches into wearable art.
This year, Piaget introduces two new Polo Perpetual Calendar Obsidian models, expanding the Polo line that draws inspiration from the design language of the 1960s. The new releases combine rare volcanic stones, precious gems, and an ultra thin movement.
Both versions feature a 42mm cushion-shaped case in 18k white gold. The Obsidian Blue opts for understated elegance with a horizontal satin-brushed bezel that enhances its sculptural silhouette. The Obsidian Green model takes it up a notch with a bezel set with 56 claw-set emeralds, each precision-cut to follow the case’s curves. Thanks to the ultra-thin movement, both watches retain a slim 8.65mm profile on the wrist. They are fitted with sapphire crystals on both sides and offer 30 meters of water resistance.
No two dials are alike, and that’s no exaggeration. Made from thin slices of natural obsidian, each dial has a character of its own. The green dial, paired with the emerald bezel, leans bold and expressive, while the blue version offers cooler, more meditative tones. Both dials feature three white gold-framed sub-dials: month and leap year at 12 o’clock, date at 3 o’clock, and day of the week at 9 o’clock, all with snailed interiors. At 6 o’clock, a moon phase is displayed. Applied indices and openworked hands, inlaid with green or blue to match their respective dial themes, complete the look.
Powering the watch is the in-house calibre 1255P, an automatic movement measuring just 4mm thick. Based on the celebrated 1200P, this movement keeps the case profile slim while delivering a robust 42-hour power reserve and a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz). The blue micro-rotor and hand-finished decoration, including Côtes de Genève and sunburst wheels, can be admired through the caseback.

The watches are paired with rubber straps embossed with Piaget’s signature gadroons. The Obsidian Green version also includes a second strap in alligator leather. The Obsidian Green edition is limited to just 18 individually numbered pieces. Meanwhile, the Obsidian Blue version joins Piaget’s permanent collection. The Blue version is priced at EUR 108,000 (equivalent to AED 394,000), while the Green edition comes in at EUR 149,000 (approximately AED 612,000).
