The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Hands on Patek Philippe Unveils the Perpetual Calendar Retrograde Date 6159G

A white gold case and a sapphire dial reveal the highly complicated movement beneath

Patek Philippe presents the new Perpetual Calendar Retrograde Date 6159G, featuring a design that blends the timeless elegance of the iconic Calatrava case, inspired by 19th-century timepieces, with its classic rounded shape and the distinctive guilloché "hobnail" pattern adorning the bezel and caseband. Measuring just under 40 mm in diameter, this watch houses a highly sophisticated perpetual calendar movement, distinguished by its retrograde date display at the center of the dial. Completing the design is a modern dial crafted from transparent sapphire, revealing the intricate details of the movement beneath, adding depth and visual richness to the timepiece.

The white gold case measures 39.5 mm in diameter and 11.49 mm in thickness, and features a bezel and caseband adorned with guilloché decorations in the distinctive "hobnail" pattern. This decorative motif is closely associated with the brand’s Calatrava collection, adding texture and beautiful contrast to the polished surfaces of the case.

The result is a compact, wearable timepiece that embodies the highest standards of craftsmanship for which the Maison is renowned. Water resistance is rated at 30 metres.

The dial displays an array of functions that highlight the technical complexity within the watch, a sensation further enhanced by its transparent design. Crafted from sapphire with a metallic grey tone that darkens towards the edge, the dial elegantly reveals the intricate components of the movement beneath, adding depth and visual sophistication to the overall design.

The retrograde date arc stands out at the center of the dial, indicated by a red arrow-shaped hand. Flanking it are the functional apertures: the day display at 9 o’clock, the leap-year cycle at 12 o’clock, the month at 3 o’clock, and the moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock. The edges of these windows are framed with white gold accents, adding a luxurious touch to the dial.

The watch is powered by the automatic Caliber 26-330 S QR, equipped with a central rotor crafted from 21-carat gold and featuring luxurious finishing across all components of the movement. This caliber offers a power reserve of between 35 and 45 hours and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

Since 2024, all modern Patek Philippe movements bearing the Patek Philippe Seal have been regulated to an impressive precision of -3 to +2 seconds per day, a standard that applies to this timepiece as well.

The watch comes with a strap made of composite material with a fabric pattern in black, secured by a white gold patented triple-blade fold-over clasp. It is priced at CHF 100,000, which is approximately equivalent to 448,230 AED.
