The Summit Collection: A Strong First Step for New Brand Earthen

Earthen Company is one of the freshest names to enter the watch market, founded in Hong Kong in 2025 by a group of passionate collectors and enthusiasts. Co-founder Jonathan Chan, also a key figure behind The Horology Club, explains that the team approached this project as collectors first, not as traditional watchmakers.

The result is a debut that doesn’t chase trends but instead offers something unique, a series of ceramic, field- and pilot-inspired watches at an accessible price point. With the launch of the Summit Collection, it’s clear Earthen intends to make an impression from day one.

Introducing Mühle Glashütte Introduces the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer Nautical Blue

The Dive Watch Developed in Collaboration with the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service

Mühle-Glashütte introduces a new edition of its renowned S.A.R. Rescue-Timer, now in Nautical Blue. This robust and visually striking dive watch continues the legacy of a timepiece originally developed in collaboration with the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS). The latest iteration brings a fresh maritime aesthetic with a deep blue dial, reinforcing the model’s reputation for durability and functionality.

The partnership between Mühle-Glashütte and the DGzRS, established in 2002, has cemented the brand’s position as a maker of purpose-built watches for professionals operating in extreme maritime conditions. Rescue teams require a watch that offers exceptional resilience, readability, and unwavering reliability—qualities that define the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer.

The 42mm stainless steel case, measuring 13.5mm thick, features a mix of brushed and polished finishes. However, its standout feature is the rubber bezel—not just a design element but a functional addition that absorbs impacts and minimizes the risk of injury during rescue operations.

A solid case back ensures an impressive 1,000-meter water resistance, while the screw-down crown at 4 o’clock enhances comfort, preventing it from digging into the wrist during active use. The 4mm-thick sapphire crystal, significantly thicker than standard watch crystals, provides superior scratch and impact resistance. Integrated beneath it is a magnified date window at 4 o’clock, featuring a darker blue background for a refined touch.

The most striking update is the nautical blue dial, evoking the depths of the ocean. Bright white indices and hands create a sharp contrast, ensuring exceptional legibility in all lighting conditions. Generous Super-LumiNova coating allows the hands and markers to glow brightly in the dark—an essential feature for low-light environments and nighttime operations.

Inside, the automatic Sellita SW 200-1 movement, modified by Mühle-Glashütte, powers the watch. The key enhancement is Mühle’s proprietary "woodpecker neck regulation", a fine-adjustment system that improves shock resistance and ensures precise timekeeping under extreme conditions.

Additional features include a stop-second function for accurate time setting and a quick date correction for convenience. The movement beats at 28,800 VPH (4 Hz) and offers a 41-hour power reserve.

Completing the package is a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp. Priced at 2,250 EUR approximately 8,660 AED.
