The Time Eater Returns in Two Eye-Catching Creations with Bold, Unconventional Design
Louis Erard launched its first collaboration with Konstantin Chaykin in 2023, opening a bold new chapter in its ongoing series of artistic partnerships with independent watchmakers and designers. This collaboration followed previous standout projects with renowned names such as Alain Silberstein, Vianney Halter, and Cédric Johner.
The first model, aptly named Time-Eater, was a clever fusion of both brands’ signature elements: Louis Erard’s distinctive Regulator layout and Konstantin Chaykin’s iconic Wristmons concept, best known as the “Joker.” The partnership didn’t end there, by the end of 2023, a second edition was introduced, featuring a black DLC-coated case that gave the design an even more mysterious and theatrical presence.
Now, Louis Erard unveils Time-Eater III the final bite? Two versions of this one-eyed creature, inspired by Slavic mythology, are being released. For the first time, the model will be available through both brands, offered in two distinct colors and sizes.
Le Régulateur Time-Eater III comes in two case sizes, catering to a broad range of aesthetic preferences among watch enthusiasts. The larger version features a 42 mm diameter and a 49.60 mm lug-to-lug length, housed in a three-part case that reflects Louis Erard’s traditional Regulator architecture, with a thickness of 12.25 mm. The smaller version measures 39 mm in diameter, 45.9 mm lug-to-lug, and a slightly thicker profile at 12.82 mm.
Both models are equipped with domed sapphire crystals featuring anti-reflective coating on both sides, along with transparent casebacks that reveal the automatic movement.
Water resistance is rated at 50 meters, and each crown bears Konstantin Chaykin’s signature emblem.
This collaboration presents two unique artistic dials, each merging Chaykin’s whimsical creativity with the technical precision of Louis Erard’s Regulator layout.
The 42 mm model is characterized by a blue inner ring framing a grey dial base with a sunray finish. It is signed with the Louis Erard logo at 6 o’clock and the Konstantin Chaykin logo at 12 o’clock, both finely engraved on integrated nameplates.
The 39 mm edition offers a warmer visual identity, thanks to a glossy red inner ring that surrounds a silver sunray-patterned dial base.
Despite their visual contrasts, both versions share core design elements: an anthracite satin-brushed ring surrounding the hour display, a glossy white hour disc, a matte black minute hand shaped like a pointing finger, a red ring encircling the seconds subdial, and a star-shaped seconds hand at 6 o’clock.
As with previous “Time-Eater” collaborations, both watches are powered by the Swiss-made Sellita SW266-1 automatic movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offering a 38-hour power reserve. The rotor features a skeletonized design adorned with the Louis Erard logo in glossy black lacquer.
Each model is paired with a refined black leather strap. The red version is fitted with a soft calfskin strap with matching stitching and lining. The blue version features a calfskin strap embossed with a toad pattern, complemented by blue accents and soft blue rabbit leather lining.
Both versions are limited to just 178 pieces. The red edition (39 mm) is available exclusively through Konstantin Chaykin, while the blue edition (42 mm) is sold exclusively through Louis Erard’s online store and official retailers. Each is priced at CHF 4,450, or approximately AED 19,770.
