A Limited Edition Celebrating the Brand’s Heritage and Craftsmanship on Its 90th Anniversary
Lebois & Co introduces the Heritage Chronograph Atelier – Coquille d’Œuf, the first in a new generation of Heritage Chronograph models celebrating the Métiers d’Art of Swiss watchmaking. Marking the brand’s 90th anniversary, this exceptional timepiece combines refined chronograph mechanics with one of the most demanding decorative crafts: the Grand Feu enamel dial.
Founded in 1934 by Raymond Dodane of the renowned Dodane watchmaking family, Lebois & Co – like many ateliers – closed its doors during the Quartz Crisis of the 1970s. In 2014, Tom van Wijlick revived the brand, with a strong focus on preserving its heritage and traditional watchmaking techniques.
The 316L stainless steel case measures 39 mm in diameter and 10.9 mm in height, increasing to 14.3 mm due to the domed sapphire crystal. Rectangular chronograph pushers emphasize its vintage spirit, while a sapphire crystal caseback reveals the movement within. The watch is water-resistant to 50 metres.
The Coquille d’Œuf – French for “eggshell” – takes its name from the soft, warm hue of its dial. Constructed in three parts, the dial features a main plate with two recessed subdials, each individually crafted and soldered into place. Every surface is hand-coated with enamel powder, then fired at over 800 °C to fuse the glass to the brass base. Multiple layers are built up to create both depth and visual harmony.
The graphics including the logo, scales, and numerals are pad-printed by hand using enamel-based inks. Each colour is applied separately with sub-millimetre precision before a final firing permanently bonds the markings to the dial surface.
Powering the watch is the hand-wound calibre LC-450, developed by La Joux-Perret. Based on the architecture of the 7750, this refined column-wheel chronograph operates at 4 Hz and offers a 60-hour power reserve. The movement is beautifully decorated, featuring blued screws and a blued column wheel, perlage, and Côtes de Genève finishing.
The Coquille d’Œuf will be available exclusively by souscription – a historic approach where clients secure their timepiece in advance with a deposit. In this case, a deposit of EUR 2,940 initiates production. Limited to just 25 pieces in 2025, the watch is priced at EUR 9,800 (approximately AED 41,900).
