The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing Kurono Unveils The Special Projects Réserve de Marche ‘SENSU NOS’

Two timepieces with a beautiful guilloché dial and a power reserve complication

The Japanese industry is renowned for its exceptional creativity and craftsmanship, and exceeds in the realm of mechanical timepieces. One of the most iconic figures in this space is Hajime Asaoka, a master watchmaker celebrated for his hand-crafted masterpieces. Seeking to offer a more accessible alternative to his high-end creations, Asaoka launched the Kurono brand. Over the years, Kurono has delivered several standout models, including the Classic Calligra Special Project and the Grand Series 2024 Anniversary Reiwa. Asaoka also revived the forgotten Japanese brand Takano, bringing its heritage back to life. Now, Kurono is introducing the new Special Projects Réserve de Marche, nicknamed ‘SENSU NOS,’ a beautifully crafted mechanical watch featuring a power reserve and a striking guilloché dial in blue and cream.

The watch comes in a 38mm high-polished case made from 316L stainless steel, with a thickness of 11.2mm, including the box-shaped sapphire crystal. Its lug-to-lug measurement spans 45.6mm, offering a balanced and refined profile on the wrist.

The new Special Projects 'SENSU NOS' showcases Hajime Asaoka's distinct take on the classic guilloché-dial watch, infused with art-deco elements. The power reserve indicator is set at 10:30 o’clock and features a guilloché pattern inspired by the folding Japanese fan (扇子: sensu), while the main and 24-hour dials are adorned with a Clous de Paris pattern and circular guilloché graining at the dials periphery.

For the first time in Kurono timepieces, Dauphine hands are introduced. Unlike the blue variant, the 'SENSU NOS' in cream uses blued-steel hands for the hours, minutes, and seconds. The blue variant highlights Japanese heritage through its Kanji hour markers, rendered in Hajime-sensei's signature calligraphy style, with the brand’s logo uniquely positioned at 3 o’clock, deviating from the traditional 12 o’clock placement. Meanwhile, the cream variant features Arabic numerals.

In 2022, Kurono acquired the entire remaining stock of Citizen's discontinued Premium Automatic Cal.9134. The movement has been re-designated as Cal.9134PWT to signify the brand's in-house timekeeping modifications and the removal of the date function. This automatic caliber operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and provides a power reserve of 40 hours.

A limited number of 'SENSU NOS' watches will be produced, emphasizing its Special Projects designation. Following this release, the Cal.9134PWT movement will be permanently discontinued. The watch is paired with a black calf leather strap and features a steel pin buckle. Priced at USD 2,150, equivalent to AED 7,900.
