A new elegant piece from the indie watchmaker with an inverted movement
Kari Voutilainen is one of the most renowned names in the independent watchmaking scene, celebrated for his exceptional craftsmanship and intricate designs. Over the past two decades, Kari has firmly established himself as a leading figure in the horological industry.
This year marks a significant milestone for Voutilainen as he celebrates 20 years in the watchmaking industry. To commemorate this anniversary, he has introduced the Tourbillon 20th Anniversary. But that is not the only timepiece unveiled, as Kari is also releasing the KV20i Reversed, the successor to the 28TI model, with an inverted movement.
The KV20i Reversed features a 39mm diameter case with signature tear-drop lugs, available in 950 platinum, 18k white or rose gold, and stainless steel. Both the front and caseback are fitted with sapphire crystals treated with an anti-reflective coating, ensuring clarity from every angle.

The openworked dial reveals the new KV20i caliber, a fully in-house manufactured hand-wound movement finished with the brand's classic touches. It features a blued minutes ring adorned with gold dots and blued-tip Breguet-style hour and minute hands. The dial prominently showcases a large balance wheel with rose gold weights at 12 o'clock, and a barrel positioned between 5 and 6 o'clock.
The movement operates at 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz) and offers a 60-hour power reserve. Through the caseback, you can see a blued ring circling the movement and a small seconds sub-dial positioned at 1 o’clock. The prices of the timepieces range from CHF 118,800, equivalent to AED 483,000, to CHF 124,800, equivalent to AED 507,000, depending on the choice of material. The watches come with a hand-sewn crocodile leather strap.
