Expanding the Reverso with new models, cases and dials
Some brands aim to be instantly recognizable without even saying their name, relying on iconic designs that speak for themselves. Jaeger-LeCoultre achieved this with the creation of the Reverso, one of the world’s most legendary wristwatch designs. Introduced in 1931 to address the challenge of crafting a timepiece tough enough for polo matches, the Reverso has since transcended its sporting origins. Over the course of its nine-decade history, it has undergone various transformations in sizes and dial styles, all while preserving its identity. In 2016, to celebrate its 85th anniversary, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Reverso Tribute line, which honors the timeless elegance of the original 1931 model.
In addition to the stunning Reverso Tribute Duoface Tourbillon steel variant, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduces a new size for the Reverso Tribute Monoface, featuring two distinct dial options. The brand also unveiled the Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds in an 18k pink gold case, paired with a rich dark blue lacquer dial.
Similar to the original Reverso models, the blank metal case back of this Monoface version was initially designed as a purely functional element, however it now serves as a perfect canvas for creativity, allowing owners to showcase their personal style or commemorate cherished memories through engravings or lacquer. The new stainless steel case closely resembles the dimensions of the original 1931 Reverso, measuring 40.1 x 24.4 mm with a slim profile of just 7.56 mm, ensuring it is both comfortable and elegant on any wrist, making it a great fit for both men and women.

The watch features two dial options: silver opaline or blue sunray lacquer. It is powered by the manually wound in-house Calibre 822, providing 42 hours of power reserve. The silver-gray variant is paired with a golden-tan calfskin leather strap, while the blue version comes with a matching blue calfskin leather strap, and both models are priced at AED 32,600.
The second variant, the Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds, is reimagined in an 18k pink gold (750/1000) case, measuring 47 x 28.3 mm in size and 9.6 mm in thickness. It showcases a front dial made of glossy, deep blue lacquer with a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock, while the redesigned reverse dial features double indexes set against a silver sunray background, along with an elegant 24-hour (night-day) display at 6 o’clock.

The front dial features pink gold indexes and hands, with the deep blue color achieved by layering no fewer than 20 coats of lacquer, each requiring drying before the next was applied. Overall, the creation of the dial involves a meticulous process of 50 steps. The front dial displays hours, minutes, and small seconds, while the reverse dial shows a second time zone and a 24-hour indicator. To preserve the integrity of the case design, the second time zone is adjusted using a small slider integrated into the top case band, which remains completely hidden unless the case is released from its cradle and flipped over. This watch is powered by the manually wound in-house Calibre 854, offering a power reserve of 42 hours. It comes with a blue Calfskin leather strap, and is priced at AED 94,000.
