A Classic Sports Watch in a Black Case Exuding Luxury
Hamilton's timepieces have always stood at the intersection of American innovation and Swiss precision. From its early days, the brand played a pivotal role in defining the precise timekeeping needed for America's railroads, military, and aviation pioneers. Over the years, Hamilton's watches have not only provided high accuracy but have also become synonymous with cinematic history, appearing in over 500 films and television shows. One of its most important and famous collections is the classic Jazzmaster, with several versions being introduced at the beginning of this new year, including the “Open Heart Auto” watches. In its latest releases, the brand expands this collection with the addition of a classic sports watch, the “Performer Auto Chrono”.
The 42mm diameter, and 15.22mm thickness, stainless steel case, coated in sleek black PVD, exudes a bold, modern aesthetic while maintaining a rugged appeal. The case features a tachymeter scale with silver-toned markings on the bezel. chronograph pushers and a fluted crown seamlessly match the overall design. The sapphire crystal, treated with a double anti-reflective coating, enhances legibility while offering durability, while the screw-down crown and 100m water resistance ensure the watch is built to withstand everyday challenges.
The grey dial is adorned with faceted indices and hour and minute hands, all coated with Super-LumiNova X1 for enhanced legibility in low light. There is a black printed minute track on a white ring at the edge of the dial, and at 9 o'clock, a silver small seconds sub-dial contrasts beautifully against the grey dial, while the chronograph 30-minute sub-dial at 3 o'clock echoes the dial’s color with silver indices. The blue snailed 12-hour sub-dial at 6 o'clock offers a vibrant color. The date ring, subtly integrated around the center of the dial, shows the entire month, with a secret window between 4 and 5 o’clock revealing the current date.
The watch is powered by the Hamilton H-31 automatic chronograph movement, a robust and reliable mechanism based on the renowned Valjoux 7753. Equipped with a Nivachron balance spring for enhanced magnetic resistance, this movement ensures exceptional precision. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), and offers 60 hours of power reserve.
It comes with a black perforated leather strap and blue stitching, with folding clasp in black PVD, and priced at EUR 2,595 approximately AED 10,400.
