The sporty and robust chronograph receives a new black and white "Panda" style
Glashütte Original is one of the most renowned German watchmakers, celebrated for its handcrafted timepieces that emphasize meticulous detail and exceptional quality. While the brand's iconic “Senator” and “Pano” collections have long captured the hearts of enthusiasts with their elegant designs and intricate movements, Glashütte Original expanded its portfolio in 2019 with a robust and stylish dive watch collection. The SeaQ, inspired by the brand's first diver's watch, the GUB Spezimatic type RP TS from 1969, was introduced as part of the Spezialist collection, which offers watches designed for maximum reliability both above and under the water.
Now, the brand is releasing the SeaQ Chronograph “Silver Screen”, a new addition to the SeaQ collection, featuring a beautifully handcrafted silver “Panda-style” dial that evokes the effect of classic cinema screens.
The watch features a round, 43.2 mm diameter case in brushed and polished stainless steel. It has a thickness of 16.95 mm and a unidirectional rotating bezel with a black ceramic inlay. The watch includes an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a screwed sapphire case back, and a screw-down crown, offering water resistance up to 300 meters.
The new SeaQ Chronograph features a silver galvanized dial that reduces light dispersion and enhances contrast. It includes black hands and applied indexes coated with Super-LumiNova for improved visibility. The dial showcases a bi-compax layout, with a large date display positioned above the 6 o'clock mark.
The watch is powered by the automatic calibre 37-23, an in-house movement that complies with ISO 6425 and DIN 8306 standards. The movement operates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a 70-hour power reserve. It also features a silicon balance spring, which is resistant to temperature fluctuations and magnetic fields. Thanks to the flyback function, the chronograph is easy to operate, allowing you to stop, reset, and restart the function faster with a single press.
The new SeaQ Chronograph Silver Screen is available with a black rubber strap, a stainless steel bracelet, or an orange-colored textile strap. The price ranges between EUR 15,300 and 16,500, which is equivalent to AED 62,000 to 67,000.
