The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing Formex Unveils the Essence Space Glacier in Two Sizes

A Meteorite Dial Graces the Third Addition to the Brand’s Celestial-Inspired Collection

Formex expands its celestial-inspired lineup with the new Essence Space Glacier, a stunning addition that captivates with a dial shimmering in clarity, depth, and uniqueness. This latest meteorite release introduces a refined silver dial, following the golden meteorite version, and showcases a remarkable two-stage finishing process that fuses time-honored craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology.

Crafted from the ancient Muonionalusta meteorite, first discovered north of the Arctic Circle in present-day Scandinavia, the dial material is one of the oldest substances known to man, dating back over 4.5 billion years. This iron-based meteorite, which impacted Earth more than a million years ago, reveals a mesmerizing Widmanstätten pattern: a natural interlocking crystalline structure formed through millions of years of slow cooling in space. This pattern is impossible to replicate, making every dial in the Space Glacier series utterly unique.

The Essence Space Glacier is housed in Formex’s bestselling 39 mm and 43 mm Essence cases, crafted from 316L stainless steel. Inspired by the engineering precision of high-performance bikes and racing machines, the case integrates Formex’s patented case suspension system, four springs embedded between the upper and lower case components, that ensures optimal shock absorption while enhancing wrist comfort.

The slim profile (10 mm for the 39 mm version and 10.6 mm for the 43 mm) and ergonomic curved lugs ensure a snug fit. The brushed finish is complemented by hand-polished mirror bevels, and the case is topped with a sapphire crystal featuring anti-reflective coating on both sides. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters.

The dial itself, just 0.5 mm thick, is a technical marvel. Unlike conventional meteorite or stone dials that are glued onto a brass base, Formex has pioneered a method of directly soldering the dial feet onto the meteorite, an achievement made possible by the material’s conductive properties and the brand’s in-house innovation.

To bring out the meteorite’s full brilliance, Formex developed an exclusive two-stage finishing technique. First, a bright layer of 98% pure silver is electroplated onto the meteorite surface. Then, six ultra-fine layers of zapon teinté, a cellulose-based lacquer subtly tinted with blue—are applied by hand. This blend of tradition and technology exemplifies Formex’s philosophy: a relentless pursuit of innovation grounded in heritage.

A final technical flourish: the beveled date window is precision-cut directly into the meteorite. This angled aperture not only adds a visual dynamic but also improves legibility, thanks to the contrast it creates with the date wheel beneath, another testament to Formex’s attention to detail.

Powering both watches is a Swiss Made, COSC-Certified Chronometer Sellita SW200-1 self-winding movement, boasting an extended power reserve of 41 hours. the highest quality "Chronometer" grade due to its inclusion of premium components not commonly found in standard versions of this caliber.
