Introducing Fears Unveils New Models in the Brunswick & Redcliff Lines

Founded in Bristol in 1846, Fears is among the oldest family-run watch companies in Britain. After ceasing operations in 1976, the brand was revived in 2016 by Nicholas Bowman-Scargill, a sixth-generation descendant of the founder, marking a new chapter in its history by reintroducing some of its most iconic designs to the modern world.

This year, as part of its participation in Geneva Watch Days 2025, the maison continues that evolution with three new models, the Brunswick 38 Charcoal Rose, the Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour Barleycorn, and the Redcliff 39.5 Date ES.

Brunswick 38 Charcoal Rose

The Brunswick remains the brand’s most recognizable design, defined by its cushion-shaped case and elegant proportions. The new Charcoal Rose edition is crafted from 316L stainless steel with a domed sapphire crystal, measuring 38 mm in diameter and 11.25 mm in thickness. An exhibition caseback reveals the movement, and the watch is water-resistant to 100 meters.

The multi-layer dial combines a granular charcoal base with warm rose gold accents. Applied Arabic numerals in 18k rose gold cast subtle shadows across the surface, complemented by frosted hour and minute hands, a small-seconds subdial, and a matching minute track, all in the same tone, creating refined contrast.

Powering the watch is the hand-wound La Joux-Perret D100 calibre, beating at 3 Hz with a 50-hour power reserve. The model is offered on a chestnut brown Cordovan leather strap priced at £3,450 (approx. AED 17,200), or on a 5-link stainless steel bracelet at £3,650 (approx. AED 18,200).

Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour Barleycorn

The Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour Barleycorn is housed in a 316L stainless steel case measuring 40.5 mm in diameter, with a thickness of 12.8 mm. Its polished cushion-shaped case features short lugs for comfortable wear, and it is rated to 100 meters of water resistance.

The dial presents a barleycorn guilloché-style silver-white outer ring, paired with a plum lacquered central disc. At 12 o’clock sits the prominent jump-hour aperture, balanced by a beveled plate bearing the Fears name at 6 o’clock. A single rhodium-plated hand indicates the minutes.

Inside, Fears integrates the Christopher Ward JJ01 jumping-hour module with a Sellita SW200 base, an automatic calibre running at 4 Hz with a 38-hour power reserve. The watch is available on a 5-link stainless steel bracelet for £4,450 (approx. AED 22,200) or on a plum Alcantara strap lined with blue calf leather with a bespoke pin buckle for £4,250 (approx. AED 21,150).

Redcliff 39.5 Date ES

The Redcliff stands as the sportiest of the trio, and in this Endurance Specification (ES) edition, it gains a hardened frosted steel case measuring 39.5 mm in diameter and 9.95 mm in thickness. The bezel, crown, and caseback are finished with black DLC, while water resistance is rated to 150 meters.

The textured carbon-black dial is accented with bold orange details on the minute track and seconds hand. White indices filled with Super-LumiNova ensure strong legibility, date window is at 3 o’clock, while the angled inner flange and applied indices enhance depth and visibility.

Driving the watch is the automatic La Joux-Perret G100 calibre, beating at 4 Hz with a 68-hour power reserve. It is paired with a carbon-black FKM rubber strap featuring orange contrast stitching and a DLC-coated fold-over deployant clasp. The price is £3,350 (approx. AED 16,700).
