A Unique Timepiece Combining Minute Repeater Chimes and Tourbillon Precision
After an illustrious career leading several major watch brands, Jean-Claude Biver launched his own brand in 2022, which he oversees in collaboration with his son, Pierre. So far, the company has introduced two collections: the first, Carillon Tourbillon, and the second, the Automatic collection. His debut collection reflects his unique vision of haute horology, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary innovation. Among his first creations is the Carillon Tourbillon, a masterpiece that combines a minute repeater mechanism with a tourbillon in an exceptional horological work of art.
Now, coinciding with Watches and Wonders, Biver unveils his latest creation: Carillon Tourbillon The Desert Rose, a one-of-a-kind timepiece that beautifully merges mechanical innovation with artistic craftsmanship.
The case, crafted from 18k rose gold, maintains the same dimensions as its predecessor, with a 42mm diameter and a thickness of 13.7mm. The crown bears the JCB logo, while sapphire crystal protects both the front and back. Additionally, the case offers water resistance up to 50 meters.
The dial is a stunning composition of mother-of-pearl, accentuated by applied ruby indices. A chemin de fer minute track, set with pink rubies, encircles the guilloché center, creating a striking interplay of texture and color. This refined contrast enhances both legibility and aesthetic depth. At 6 o’clock, the tourbillon is showcased beneath a golden bridge, harmonizing beautifully with the gold-toned hands.
Powering this exceptional timepiece is the Biver Calibre JCB-001-B, the iconic movement found in most Carillon editions. Measuring 34mm in diameter and 7.1mm in thickness, the movement operates at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and offers a generous 72-hour power reserve. This self-winding caliber is equipped with a platinum micro-rotor, ensuring efficient winding. Comprising 374 meticulously crafted components and 44 jewels, the movement exemplifies Swiss watchmaking excellence, with every element hand-finished to the highest standards.
This unique piece is paired with an 18k rose gold bracelet, secured by an 18k gold folding clasp. Priced at 670,000 CHF approximately 2,793,000 AED.
