The Summit Collection: A Strong First Step for New Brand Earthen

Earthen Company is one of the freshest names to enter the watch market, founded in Hong Kong in 2025 by a group of passionate collectors and enthusiasts. Co-founder Jonathan Chan, also a key figure behind The Horology Club, explains that the team approached this project as collectors first, not as traditional watchmakers.

The result is a debut that doesn’t chase trends but instead offers something unique, a series of ceramic, field- and pilot-inspired watches at an accessible price point. With the launch of the Summit Collection, it’s clear Earthen intends to make an impression from day one.

J.N. Shapiro Watches

J.N. Shapiro Watches is a watch company founded by Joshua Shapiro in 2018. Joshua Shapiro is an educator with a background in American history, but he developed a passion for watchmaking and engine-turning. The brand is known for its unique and intricate engine-turned dials, which are handcrafted in Los Angeles.

The company's first watch series, known as the "Infinity Series," was launched in 2018. The standout feature of this series is its "infinity weave" engine-turned pattern, which presents a basketweave within a basketweave, showcasing the brand's dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail. The dials are entirely made by Joshua Shapiro himself, reflecting his mastery of the art of engine-turning.

Despite his role as a high school principal in Los Angeles, Joshua Shapiro is committed to pursuing his passion for watchmaking. He draws inspiration from other contemporary engine-turners such as Derek Pratt, George Daniels, and Roger Smith, who are esteemed figures in the watchmaking industry.
