Louis Erard Unveils the Limited-Edition Gravée Main

Since 2021, Louis Erard has been redefining the boundaries of Métiers d’Art, from Grand Feu enamel and guilloché to wood marquetry, and soon, gold wire inlay. Now, Gravée Main opens a new chapter, paying tribute to one of the oldest crafts in watchmaking hand engraving.
Gravée Main represents a new milestone in Louis Erard’s Métiers d’Art series. This limited edition of 99 unique timepieces places hand engraving at center stage, with every metal element entirely engraved and finished by hand, a meticulous process that requires more than 50 hours of work.

Introducing The Gérald Genta Oursin 36 Burgundy & 36 Black Onyx

Two releases reimagining Genta’s iconic sea urchin spiny design in gold

In 1994, Gérald Genta transformed the sea urchin “oursin in French” into a watch design. Its distinctive spiny, spherical form was reinterpreted as a circular case with convex sides, embellished with beads. In 2023, Louis Vuitton’s high-end movement manufacturer, La Fabrique du Temps, revived Gérald Genta’s namesake brand, ensuring that his daring creativity continues to inspire new generations of collectors. Among the reintroduced creations was the Oursin Collection, followed early on this year by the Gentissima Oursin Orange Limited Edition. This year, the Gentissima Oursin collection enters a new chapter with the introduction of the Oursin 36 Burgundy and the Oursin 36 Black Onyx.

Both models are presented in 36.5 mm cases with a thickness of 9.6 mm. The Burgundy edition is crafted in 4N rose gold and adorned with 223 polished beads, while the Black Onyx version is made of 3N yellow gold and fitted with 223 hand-screwed spikes. The crown is seamlessly integrated into the beadwork or spikes, echoing the rebellious character of the design. Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal with eight facets, while sapphire casebacks reveal the movement inside.

The Black Onyx variant features a deep black dial with a sleek, polished finish. Yellow gold spike-shaped indices mark the hours, complemented by gold hands coated ith Super-LumiNova and a matte black minute track. The Burgundy edition draws inspiration from the Tall Bearded Iris. Its burgundy dial is decorated with a subtle eight-sided guilloché motif, where rich red tones are paired with rose gold hands and luminous white indices.

Both watches are powered by the automatic calibre GG-005, based on the Zenith Elite. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz), it offers a power reserve of 50 hours. The movement is distinguished by a bespoke octagonal rotor decorated with applied gold studs.

The Black Onyx model is paired with a black exotic leather Bund-style strap, while the Burgundy edition comes on a burgundy calfskin strap. Both join the permanent collection. The Black Onyx edition is priced at CHF 29,000 (approx. AED 132,600), while the Burgundy edition is CHF 27,000 (approx. AED 123,500).
