The inaugural Ming timepiece in the luxurious rose gold
Celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2022, Ming marked the occasion by unveiling the Ming 37.04 monopusher. This timepiece, originally crafted in titanium, featured a minimalist yet distinct design, with a special movement expertly reworked by La Joux Perret to Ming’s precise specifications. Today, the evolution of this model continues with its latest iteration: a luxurious rose gold case version. Limited to an exclusive run of just 20 pieces, this new edition of the Ming 37.04 boasts an even more pronounced guilloché pattern on the rose gold dial, enhancing its elegance and uniqueness.
The timepiece boasts a 38mm diameter case, crafted from polished and brushed 18k rose gold. The case, with a thickness of 11.9mm, strikes a perfect balance between elegance and luxury on the wrist. Complementing its design is the practicality of 50m water resistance, topped by a domed sapphire crystal on both front and caseback, treated with an anti-reflective coating, with the chronograph pusher in the winding crown, and twisted lugs.
The dial, also in 18k rose gold, features an intricate guilloché decoration by Comblemine, known for its expertise in the art of dial making for high-end watches. The dial features an off center sandblasted 30-minute sub dial, with the hour markers, tachymeter, and pulsometer scales printed on a sapphire layer, while the gold-plated hour and minute hands, along with the hour indices, are treated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility.
At the heart of this timepiece is the caliber LJP 5000.M1, exclusively developed for Ming with a final assembly by Manufacture Schwarz-Etienne. This manual-winding, monopusher chronograph movement features a lateral clutch. The movement is adorned with rose gold-coated, openworked and sandblasted bridges and plates, offering a captivating view of the intricate workings, with finishing touches by the brand’s partners Jean Rousseau and Koji Sato.
Complementing the watch is a luxurious black leather strap, created by renowned artisans at Jean Rousseau, with a quick-release mechanism, ensuring both comfort and convenience. The strap is secured with an 18k rose gold buckle. It comes at a price of CHF 48,000 which is equivalent to AED 195,300.
