A Unique Blend of History, Art, and Innovation: Bulgari's Miniaturization Mastery Transforms Marble into a Spectacular Timepiece
Italian luxury brand Bulgari presents an exceptional feat of watchmaking artistry: a one-off Octo Finissimo Tourbillon created for the Only Watch 2023 charity auction. In a magnificent display of ingenuity and tradition, this iconic watch is now reimagined in a unique and challenging material – marble.
Renowned for its mastery of miniaturization, Bulgari once again demonstrates its technical prowess by encasing the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon in marble, a material deeply associated with the realms of art, architecture, and the brand's own historical roots.
Pushing the Boundaries of Creativity and Innovation
The Octo Finissimo's case, is meticulously adorned with a thin layer of marble, creating a visually harmonious display. The dial also features a wafer-thin (0.6-mm) marble slice, showcasing Bulgari's skillful execution of minute details. The bracelet's intricate work required hours of careful crafting, each link adorned with a marble sliver, leaving only the interior surface in black DLC titanium.
The marble of choice, Verde Alpi, hails from the Aosta Valley, a natural passage linking Switzerland and Italy. Its dominant green color, symbolizing abundance, growth, and energy, is beautifully offset with white veins, reminiscent of serpentine paths and snowy peaks in alpine forests.

A Testament to Bulgari's History and Dedication
The use of marble is a nod to Bulgari's deep connection to Roman traditions, where marble was a symbol of luxury and artistic prowess. The Octo Finissimo, in its marble incarnation, connects this historic significance with Bulgari's pursuit of avant-garde watchmaking, thus blurring the lines between classic artistry and modern technical achievements.
