A Meteorite Dial at the Heart of This Space-Inspired Timepiece
One of Bremont’s most enduring technical partnerships has been with Martin-Baker, the British aerospace company renowned as the global leader in ejection seat technology. Established in 1934, Martin-Baker has saved over 7,700 lives and supplies ejection systems to over 90 air forces worldwide. Its unmatched expertise in high-stress, life-critical systems made it a natural partner for Bremont’s vision of creating watches that could endure extreme conditions.
The collaboration between the two brands began in 2009 and led to the development of the MB series, a line of watches subjected to the same rigorous testing protocols as actual ejection seats. These tests include high-G acceleration, vibration, temperature extremes, and live ejection trials. One of the most iconic results of this partnership was the "MBIII Stealth Limited Edition", designed specifically to survive the physical demands faced by military pilots and test crews. Today, Bremont announces the latest release born from this ongoing partnership, the "Bremont Altitude MB Meteor Stealth Grey", a timepiece that builds on over a decade of shared engineering between the two British institutions.
The watch features Bremont’s signature 42mm Trip-Tick case construction, crafted from Grade 2 titanium for optimal strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance. Measuring 49.3mm lug-to-lug with a thickness of 12.23mm, the case includes a knurled black PVD mid-barrel, echoing the rugged, utilitarian aesthetics of Martin-Baker ejection systems. The inner rotating bezel is operated via a bi-directional Roto-Click mechanism with a crown positioned at 4 o’clock, enhancing both functionality and ergonomics.
Internally, the movement is protected by a soft iron anti-magnetic cage and an anti-shock rubber mount, ensuring resilience in extreme environments. A domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating covers the dial, while an exhibition case back and 100m water resistance round out the robust specifications of this mission-ready tool watch.
The dial of the watch features a reverse-embossed meteorite texture applied to a brass base, delivering a rugged, tactile aesthetic inspired by aerospace materials. Applied numerals and indexes are filled with blue-emission Super-LumiNova, ensuring legibility in low-light conditions.
The gloss black hour and minute hands contrast sharply against the dial surface, complemented by a yellow central seconds hand with a red lollipop tip and a distinctive pullcord tail, referencing Martin-Baker ejection seat mechanisms. A date aperture at 3 o’clock integrates cleanly into the layout, while the minute track and hour indices are positioned on a grey inner bezel.
Powering the watch is the BB14-AH automatic calibre, based on a Le Joux-Perret architecture and customized to Bremont’s specifications. Operating at 28,800 vph (4Hz). The movement delivers a robust 68-hour power reserve, making it well-suited for extended wear without compromise in performance. Finishing details include Côtes de Genève striping and a decorated rotor, visible through the exhibition case back. Engineered for resilience, the movement is suspended in a flexible anti-shock rubber mount and protected by soft-iron shielding, offering effective resistance to both mechanical impacts and magnetic interference essential features for a timepiece designed in collaboration with Martin-Baker, where operational reliability is paramount. It comes with a sandblasted titanium bracelet, and it's a limited edition to 400 pieces.
