The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing Blancpain Unveils The Villeret Quantième Perpétuel In Green

A beautiful green dial inspired by the forests of the Swiss village, Le Brassus

Blancpain is a renowned Swiss luxury watch brand with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1735 by Jehan-Jacques Blancpain in Villeret, Switzerland. It is one of the oldest watchmaking companies in the world and is known for its commitment to traditional craftsmanship and innovation.

One of the famous collections from the brand is the Villeret collection, named after the town of Villeret where Blancpain originated. This collection embodies the brand's commitment to traditional watchmaking, with some iconic variants including the perpetual calendar compilation, the "Villeret Quantième Perpétuel," garnering popularity for its exceptional and classy aesthetics. In celebration of this leap year, the brand unveils its latest edition of the Villeret Quantième Perpétuel, which translates to Villeret Perpetual Calendar, in a red gold case and featuring a stunning green dial inspired by the forests of Le Brassus.

Remaining faithful to its predecessors, the new release maintains a diameter of 40.3mm and a thickness of 10.8mm. Encased in polished 18k red gold, it boasts sapphire crystal on both the front and back. However, the sunray dial takes the spotlight with its green hue, and we have seen the blend of gold and green previously in the Chinese calendar variant

The perpetual calendar complication is one of the most intricate features in mechanical watches, as it accounts for the irregular lengths of months and the occurrence of leap years for the year 2100. Following a classic design, the dial comes with snailed green subdials for the calendar function, with the date positioned at 3 o’clock, the weekday at 9 o'clock, and the month at 12 o'clock accompanied by an integrated leap year indicator. Positioned above 6 o’clock, the iconic Blancpain moon phase adds a distinctive touch to the dial, featuring the renowned moon image associated with the brand's various collections. Enhancing the luxurious ambiance, the red-gold hour and minute hands, along with matching Roman numerals, further accentuate the timepiece.

The watch is powered by the brand's in-house Caliber 5954, an automatic movement that operates at 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offers 72 hours of power reserve. It features a silicon hairspring and a gold oscillating weight adorned with honeycomb decoration, visible through the open case back. The new “Villeret Quantième Perpétuel” comes with a brown alligator leather strap, secured by an 18k red gold folding clasp.
