A creative look with an innovative luminescent carbon case, a first for AP
Audemars Piguet has always been a brand that likes to get creative, whether it’s through bold designs or cutting-edge materials. They were the first to introduce forged carbon into watchmaking back in 2007, and since then, many others have followed suit. But as you'd expect, Audemars Piguet didn’t stop there. They’ve just taken their approach to forged carbon to the next level—now it can be coloured, while still maintaining all the durability and lightness it’s known for. The new 43 mm Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date is where this innovation shines, blending technical prowess with fresh, eye-catching design.
Developed in Audemars Piguet’s R&D workshops with Chroma Forged Technology (CFT), this innovative deep black material brings a fresh aesthetic with subtle hints of color. The CFT carbon also offers exceptional resistance to humidity, heat, and shocks. The new Royal Oak Concept features glareproof sapphire crystal, blue luminescent pigments, and is paired with a black ceramic bezel, crown, push-pieces, and caseback, with a thickness of 17.4mm.
The openworked dial features a blue inner bezel with a sandblasted nickel silver plate, finished in black PVD. It showcases a luminescent large date window at 12 o’clock, a GMT counter with a day/night indicator at 3 o’clock, small seconds at 6 o’clock, and a 30-minute counter at 9 o’clock.
The white gold indices and hands are coated with luminescent material that emits a blue glow in low-light environments, while the chronograph and split-seconds hands are crafted in titanium.
The watch is powered by the Calibre 4407, an in-house automatic movement featuring an integrated split-seconds flyback chronograph. It operates at 28,800 vph (4Hz) and delivers a 70-hour power reserve. The timepiece comes with a blue and black interchangeable rubber strap with a titanium folding clasp, as well as an additional black and blue rubber strap. Pricing is still upon request.
