Expanding the iconic collection with a modern look
Since its revival in 2015, Angelus has continued to innovate, blending cutting-edge design with horological mastery. Among its diverse releases, the Angelus Chronodate stands out as a vintage-inspired collection that draws beauty from its predecessor that goes back to the 1940s. This classic collection contrasts with the modern futurism found in other contemporary Angelus products, yet has become one of the brand's most iconic lines. Over the years, the Chronodate has seen many releases, including the Blue Storm and Velvet Black editions, as well as the Chronodate Only Watch edition.
Now, Angelus is expanding this iconic collection and launching the Chronodate Titanium, Magnetic Silver Edition on the occasion of Geneva Watch days 2024. The watch embodies the highest standards of modernity and comfort with its multi-structured modular case. The case middle, bezel, and crown are crafted from titanium, while the bezel ring and pushers are made from carbon composite.
The case has a beautiful mix of brushed and polished finishes, giving the watch a sophisticated appearance. It measures 42.50 mm in diameter and 14.25 mm in thickness, and features a box sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and a sapphire case back with an anti-reflective finish. Surrounding the case is an openworked cradle that unites the case middle and lugs in a single, seamless line, and houses the bezel marked with twelve notches.
The dial features a striking magnetic silver color with a sunray finish, and the unique date display is arranged in an arc around it. The numerals and hour hands are coated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility. The sub-dials, including the small seconds at 9 o'clock and the 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o'clock, have a metallic black hue and snailed finishes, adding to the watch's distinctive aesthetic.
The watch is powered by the Calibre A-500, an automatic movement with a column wheel that operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and provides a power reserve of 60 hours. The movement's mainplate and bridges are sandblasted, and NAC-treated. Completing the movement's intricate design, the oscillating weight is crafted from tungsten, adding both durability and visual appeal.
The watch is available with either an interchangeable titanium bracelet or a black rubber strap, both featuring a titanium folding buckle for secure and comfortable wear. Priced at CHF 23,000 / AED 100,000 with the rubber strap, or CHF 25,100 / AED 110,000 for the titanium bracelet, which includes an additional rubber strap, the options cater to different preferences and styles.
