A new chapter in TAG Heuer’s history with a new carbon hairspring
As part of its participation in Geneva Watch Days 2025, TAG Heuer presents its most significant breakthrough in decades, the TH-Carbonspring oscillator. Developed entirely in-house by the TAG Heuer LAB after nearly a decade of research and testing, this patented hairspring offers three major advantages, resistance to magnetism, enhanced shock absorption, and lightweight properties that improve chronometric stability. This innovation not only elevates the technical performance of mechanical watches but also signals a bold new chapter in the 350-year history of the hairspring.
To mark this milestone, TAG Heuer selected two of its most iconic collections, Monaco and Carrera, unveiling exclusive carbon-fiber creations that showcase the TH-Carbonspring’s full potential.
The Monaco is housed in a 39 mm black forged carbon case with a thickness of 14.1 mm. A beveled domed sapphire crystal protects the dial, while forged carbon pushers and crown emphasize the stealth-inspired aesthetic. The square sapphire caseback features a special limited-edition engraving, and the watch is water-resistant to 100 meters.

The dial, crafted from black forged carbon, is decorated with a spiral engraving. Three subdials are arranged as follows: a minute counter at 3 o’clock, an hour counter at 9 o’clock, and a small seconds at 6 o’clock. Black hour and minute hands filled with white Super-LumiNova ensure legibility, complemented by black forged carbon indices and contrasting white lacquered chronograph hands.
At its heart is the in-house Calibre TH20-60, a COSC-certified automatic flyback chronograph movement that operates at 4 Hz and delivers an impressive 80-hour power reserve. The watch is paired with a black rubber strap featuring textile embossing and black stitching, secured by a black DLC titanium folding clasp with the TAG Heuer logo.
This model is limited to 50 numbered pieces and will be available from December 2025 at a price of CHF 17,000, approximately AED 77,500.
The Carrera measures 44 mm in diameter, and 15.4 mm in thickness. The forged carbon case is fitted with a tachymeter bezel, also in carbon, with engraved and lacquered markings. A black sandblasted DLC titanium screwed caseback bears a special limited-edition engraving. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters.
The dial echoes the Monaco’s carbon spiral motif but distinguishes itself with an open display at 6 o’clock, revealing a flying tourbillon framed by a black ring. Two subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock serve the chronograph functions. Black hands and applied indices filled with Super-LumiNova enhance legibility, complemented by a white lacquered central chronograph hand.
Powering the watch is the Calibre TH20-61, a COSC-certified automatic chronograph with a tourbillon, operating at 4 Hz and offering a 65-hour power reserve. It is paired with a sleek black rubber strap secured by a black DLC titanium folding clasp.
Like its Monaco counterpart, the Carrera is limited to 50 numbered pieces, with availability scheduled for Q1 2026 at a price of CHF 40,000, approximately AED 182,400.
